This was our fourth trip to Aruba and our second stay at the Radisson and this time we took the whole family (a party of 7 in 3 rooms). all 3 rooms were clean, the hotel is very pretty, the beach in Aruba is wonderful, the beach side bar and grill has great hamburgers. Aruba, itself, is a very tourist friendly island and someplace where my wife and I were comfortable bringing our 70 year old parents and letting them go for a walk and we didn't need to worry about them. There is a lot of new development on the other side of the road from the Radisson that is fairly new (it was undeveloped 3 years ago), that was a nice surprise. There were little shops and new resturants to try that were in walking distance from the hotel. We took a cab to the "city" (basically a large town) but we could have walked to dinner every night. Can't wait to go back
Traveler's tip:
if you have never tried SCUBA diving before consider the resort dive class offered by Red Sail Sports. It was fun, really easy, and not very expensive

The grounds are large enough that you don't feel claustrophobic. Palm trees and high grass space the guests around the spacious long flowing pool. The beach is larger than the other nearby hotels. Get in line at 3:30 pm to get your palapa (grass hut on the beach) for the next day. Drawbacks: Small overpriced drinks. Asked for a non-smoking room, but we could definitely smell the smoke from previous guests.
Traveler's tip:
The bus ground transportation worked well. Have breakfast at the donut franchise on the beach. You can also get drinks & ice cream there during the day. We also split our lunch at Gilligan's beach bar each day. This kept us from over eating like we tend to do on a cruise.

One of the oldest hotels on Aruba, but you'd never know it. Numerous renovations have produced a very modern, comfortable and spacious hotel. The rooms are extremely adequate in size and comfort. The service is friendly and courteous. The hotel is convenantly located within walking distance of many good restaurants, not to mention having some pretty fine restaurants on its own property. I've stayed at other wonderful hotels on Aruba and would definately add the Radisson to that list.

My wife and I went to Aruba for our honeymoon and simply wanted to stay in the nicest hotel. Although the Radisson is not per se bad (the rooms are spacious and clean), there are simply nicer, newer options in Aruba, some even at similar prices. After checking out other nearby hotels, the Radisson simply does not stack up well, especially in the choice of dining options. The food is mediocre at best and way over priced for what you get.
Traveler's tip:
Go elsewhere.

Great Hotel to stay in. Grounds are very nice and well maintained. Visited other hotels, and this by far the niceiest. Service is very good, especially in the restaurants. Every employee is very courteous, and polite. Would highly reccomend.
Traveler's tip:
Found it was just as cheap to eat in the hotel restaurants vs other restaurants. Quality of food was excellant.

My stay was comfortable and convenient to my dive shop. However, my room needed to be changed due to a bad night sleep as the "cuacao" tower was too close to the hotel next door and the noise was intolerable!!

The Raddisson lives up to its claims. The grounds and beach area were definately the best of all the high rise resorts. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the pool area, rooms and restaurants. Zero complaints on this hotel.

First time in Aruba. Stayed at the Radisson for 3 days/4 nights at the end of October. Entire resort was excellent. Great relaxed atmosphere for families, couples, singles, all ages. Room was superb, great value (got a deal on Expedia for about $65 less per night). Room, hallways, etc., is clean with a pleasant feel. For a tropical island, this place is excellent. It's next to the Westin, Rui and Occidental Hotels (but why spend so much extra when you're hardly in the room?). Two pools; they could have been made a little bigger, but this isn't a big deal. Resort is right on the beach. Overall, in comparison to the Westin and Rui, the Radisson has more of a "resort" feel to it, while the others looked like "large hotels on the beach." Radisson has nice grounds with plush gardens and fauna, etc. Restaurants are okay-to-good. Laguna all-you-can-eat buffet is a great (about $20 per person for each meal). Gilligan's is okay (best for lunch, but has a rather an odd-to-boring menu). Didn't go to the fancy place. A few local places across the street (2 minute walk). Free internet access in the Business Office. Spa is a bit overpriced. Gym is nice. Nice casino (but need to open the craps table earlier in the night!). Only drawback, if it can be called that, is that the hotel workers aren't the friendliest -- they do their job without an attitude, but that's kind of the best that it can be described as.
Great place for a family to stay.

I can't think of anything that needed to be improved upon at thr Radisson. The Sunset Grill located within the hotel was by far the BEST restaurant we dined at. We tried a different restaurant each night and were never disapointed, but this one stood out. The Radisson's beach was beautiful, the casino was fun although tiny by Atlantic City/Vegas standards. The entire Radisson staff was very helpful with any and all requests/questions. Oh yeah, the one complaint I had- the mini-bar's beer had not been turned over in quite some time (check the "Born on Dates"!!!!!!!!)
Traveler's tip:
Avoid the all inclusive packages and try a different restaurant for each meal. There are so many top notch places to dine that you don't want to be "stuck" eating at the same place over and over again.

The hotel was great. The room was clean and nice. The grounds are pretty and well maintained. The beach is beautiful. There is a fee for local calls from the room. Use the concierge desk to make reservations for free.
Traveler's tip:
Take bug spray for use in the evenings. Don't mess with the using the tour companies for airport transport, just take a taxi. It will be much faster. Find a grocery store to buy your beer and rum at instead of gift shops. Request a mini-fridge for your room. It keeps the beer cold. Avoid the Aqua Grill, the fish was not fresh and the food was not as good as it should have been for the price. The Rumba Bar and Grill in the capital is one of the best deals for taste and price.

The hotel is well maintained, even though it has been around a while. The grounds are awesome, and it is one of the few resorts in Aruba that has well compartmentalized areas even though everything is close together. On site Restaurants are OK, but overpriced for the quality. Luckily there are some good places to eat within walking distance (North). I never even saw the Casino. Spent all day under papalas reading books.
Traveler's tip:
Go to one of the mini-marts to buy your liquor and mixers, then get the free ice to make your own drinks. This will save you a lot of money over a week, even if you are a light drinker. Get your coffe and pastry at the Dunkin Doughnuts on the North side of the grounds (between Raddison and Occidental). Better coffee and cheaper.

We stayed at the Radisson, which is considered the best of the high-rise hotels in Aruba. I can see why, it was clean, nice and comfortable. It is NOT all inclusive, so if you like this sort of arrangement, you will have to go elsewhere. The service was largely great, but there were a small number of employees that seemed a little put-out. The good news is that they are the minority, the rest of the employees at the hotel were super friendly and tried to do what they could to please you. The food at two of the hotels restaurants, Gilligans and Laguna, was pretty good. Depending on what you eat normally, your mileage will vary. The housekeeping was not so great for a number of the days we were there. They never replaced the toiletries and the towels were not replaced a few times. I don't think they vacuumed every day either. This seemed unusually sloppy to me, but they also had a big group of a few hundred check in during this time. The pool is pretty good, but not great compared to some places we have stayed, but if you have children it is perfect. The grounds are lush with lots of trees a vegetation and crawling with tons of the local lizards and iguanas. Aruba is a wonderful vacation location if you love lots of sun, wind and water. The locals are some of the nicest people I have ever met on vacation. The bad publicity the island has received was completely undeserved.

The Good: 1.) Radisson has the best grounds from the other resorts. My fiance' loved the manicured grounds, the koi pond and the lagoon. 2.) Pool and beach area are superb, and the fact that De Palm piers and red sail piers are right in front can't be beat for managing your vacation activities. 3.) Dinner at sunset grill, lunch at gilligans, and breakfast at laguna are very good. Also the hotel is also very short walking distance to high rise area stores, resturants, movie theathre is also a huge plus. We had dinner and lunch out of the resort many times and it was very very good. 4.) Room was very clean and serviced well. It was very comfortable for the 7 days we were there. The Bad: 1.) Our floor had a slight mold problem in the air conditioning, and the carpet in the hallway can use updating. 2.) Our room had the same smell as the floor lobby, but we got rid of that smell by just opening up the doorway to the patio and blasting the ac while we were at the pool. By the time we got back, the smell was gone and all we well. Conclusion: We plan to be back in aruba next sept. We would stay at the Radisson again.

The hotel exceeded our expectations by far. I had reserved 2 "garden view" rooms expecting a higher level location as detailed in Expedia. They didn't have 2 contiguous rooms so I was given a partial ocean upgrade. The staff are very nice and accomodating; very customer service oriented. If you're into casinos, the Radisson's casino is not the best, in comparison to some of the other major hotels in the area. Overall truly enjoyed the hotel and would not think twice of staying there again.
Traveler's tip:
The hotel's Sunset Grille restaurant was fabulous, in terms of quality and service, though somewhat expensive. If you've never gone to a churrasqueria, the Texas de Brazil restaurant is less than 5 minutes down the road and a truly enjoyable experience.

This was definitely a family resort. There were children everywhere which hurt the romance. The biggest problem was the hotel service. We were told that they did something speacial for honeymooners if you brought a marriage license. They really gave us the run around about it, because we had to have it faxed. They promised to us several times that they would bring the stuff to us but they never did. In fact they were fairly rude about this. Also, the concierge did not have opportunities for honeymooners that kept us away from families. Problems aside though, the food at the Sunset Grille Restaurant was the best and I would recommend it to everyone. Gilligans Bar and Grille is was also a very good lunch place.
Traveler's tip:
Do not stay here for your honeymoon. But if you stay in Aruba do visit their restaurant the Sunset Grille. It is somewhat pricy but you definitely get what you pay for. The Gilligans Bar and Grille, is also a great lunch place.

We stayed at the Radisson for our honeymoon and LOVED it. The hotel is gorgeous and clean. The staff was very helpful and the housekeepers cleaned our room fully each day. The first room we were given faced the construction, so the front desk changed our room right away. Make sure you ASK. Also, $tips$ can get you better service!!
Traveler's tip:
EVERYONE expects a tip in Aruba. Bugalo(located on the pier)is a great laid back bar w/ good, cheap food. The Laguna(at the Radisson) has a great all you can eat seafood night. The Sunset Sail was boring, even with the open bar. We rented a tiny car and ventured off to other areas, which was fun. The Jeep Safari tour was great!
