I loved it and am glad I went, but out of my price range at this time. Still had a fantastic time.
Traveler's tip:
Go to downtown to purchase soda's & snacks, or even go out to eat, you will save alot of money if that is a concern for you.

The hotel was beautiful. the aquarium is amazing. We had a lot of fun with the inner tubes and the rapids. The only draw back was the expense of the food. It's ashame that we didn't eat at the hotel because of how expensive it was. I don't know how families can afford the food. Other than that we had a lot of fun.
Traveler's tip:
We ate at the deli and Johnny Rockets.

My husband and I went to the Atlantis to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had a great time. The resort is absolutely amazing. I took over 200 pictures. The hotel staff was very kind. We loved the water rides and lazy river as well as the beach. The only bad part about the trip was that the wait staff in the casino was a bit sparse (to put it kindly) and the food was ridiculously expensive (dont do the meal plans, no one we spoke to could tell you how it worked or what was really included so they end up paying even more). I had never paid so much for 2 pieces of pizza before in my life. 99% of the bars, restaurants and shops dont take cash so everything gets charged to you room and everything has a 15% gratuity attached to it (even the bottle of sunblock I bought). Overall though, we would take the trip again in a heartbeat (even with the high food prices).
Traveler's tip:
We wanted to swim with dolphins but wanted to make sure the money we spent was going to be worth it. We ended up going to Dolphin Encounters which is at the ferry terminal right across the street from the Atlantis. My husband and I both said it was the most amazing experience of our entire life. We would fly to the Bahamas just to do that again. I had thought about swimming with the dolphins at the Atlantis but am I so glad that I choose Dolphin Encounters.

The hotel is very nice, beautiful and a lot to do and see. After the first couple days they really hit your wallet on everything. Everything is overpriced to the hilt. If you are trying to help the people who invested in the hotel to get there money back, YOU WILL and they make it obvious.
Traveler's tip:
Stay at a hotel near Atlantis, that gives you all the amenities of Atlantis. Look into getting gas powered scooters to save on the unregulated cab fees. Learn how to play blackjack to make up for your losses.

The hotel itself is a dream. It is honestly a work of art. For the rooms, I can say they were very nice a comfortable. Sometimes at night, during my sleep, I felt like the air conditioning was not cooling enough, I guess it is because of its position. Other than that, I had the best vacation ever.

Although the water park is great and the room was usual, for the price we will definitely not go back. All restaurants are a la carte, or buffet, $$$$$, if you can even get in. Mini-bar operates on sensors so if you move something you pay for it, used or not. One day they did not restock what we did use and told us that service was closed for the day & we needed to call room service if we wanted Coca Cola. Sewage back up in the bathroom sink on the last day. Definitely don't recommend to anyone & won't go back!

Stayed in the Royal Towers (West) with some friends and their 2 children, ages 8 and 10. We had a fantastic time and we will return when we have our own children! Some tips for your trip: --The Beach tower definitely is a step down from the Royal and Coral towers (it used to be a Days Inn before Atlantis bought it). --Reserve your pool chairs by 10am to get the spots you want (we needed 6 chairs together so we needed to go early). It was hot and humid and you definitely want to be in a pool or the lazy river! --Stuart Cove's snorkle trip was awesome and reasonably priced - you can snorkle with sharks! --Seafire is terrific for dinner - my favorite for steak. --Carmine's is also great for groups. --Try and make your dinner reservations before your trip or right when you get there. It's hard to get the coveted 7-8pm spots. --Kids have to be 48 inches tall to ride the more intense waterslides. They are awesome! --If you are from LA or NY you won't think the prices are outrageous...midwesterners, you might. But there are ways around that, as you've read through the other postings. --The service was fine, we did not have any problems. Remember you are on island time! Be polite and you'll get it back. --I did not see a single timeshare person and was never asked about it. --Go into downtown Nassau and take the ferry back to the resort - it is only a few bucks per person vs. a pricier cab ride, and the view is better! Have a great trip!!

Just got back from 8 day stay at the Royal Towers with my girlfriend, 8 yoa and 10 yoa. Had a great time. Although, the food prices are high, here are some tips for getting around that. I packed a lot of individually wrapped chese and crackers, peanut butter and crackers, adn beef jerky. I packed a loaf of bread put it in a plastic bread container, and packed a small jar of PB&J. We did spend the money and went out to dinner every night and also lunch a few times. Dominos will deliver to the hotel, under $30. It did take me by suprise when they charged $8 for water. Buy the water, loading them up with ice and waterin the room. If you go to the Marina, right across the street is some stores and one is a liquor store. You can buy a big bottle of Rum or what ever for around $20. I also read a lot of reviews about the staff. I was kind of embarrassed by us "guests" during the stay. Everybody goes down early to get a towel and put it on a chair to save a spot. However, at the end of the day, most everybody just left their towels. Staff had to spend a lot of time, going around and cleaning up after people. People would get lunch, and just leave all their garbage for staff to pick up. One day . In the elevator, someone had left around 8 towels in the corner. My family was treated with respect and kindness. We also treated them the same.
Plan a head for food, pick up after yourself, and just go and have fun.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Atlantis Royal Towers with our 10 month old daughter. I must say, I was impressed at the lengths to which they went to make sure that we had everything we needed. When we checked in, our room was already equipped with a beautiful iron crib, complete with bumper, mattress and soft jersey knit sheet. In addition, we were given a variety of baby products I used throughout our trip. We also had the option of requesting a baby bathtub, bottle sterilzer and other amenities. The grounds are the most luxurious I have ever seen -- the hotel is enormous! As most others will say, be prepared to walk. Everything is a small hike from wherever you currently are. It's not a bad thing, just something to be aware of. We had a little trouble manuevering throughout the hotel with our daughter's stroller. There are steps throughout the place and "handicap" elevators available. We did a lot of taking her out of the stroller, folding the stroller, climbing or descending steps and then putting her back in. Kind of painful at times! The food is definitely expensive! Having read the reviews, we were prepared for this and occasionally went outside the hotel grounds to enjoy a meal. You can't beat the amount of pools and lagoons...amazing how much there was to do. (Even with a 10 month old!) We'll be heading back in a few years -- and definitely choosing to go again when it's not August. (It was really REALLY hot!)
Traveler's tip:
Try the Pizzaria in the Marina Village for a great family meal! Definitely plan on doing the dolphin encounter at Blue Lagoon Bay! (Skip the Atlantis dolphin cay.)

What a disaster !!! from the airport, to the hotel itself. Stayed at the Royal Towers. Staff are totally discourteous, could give a crap less about our money or comfort. Food is overpriced, and nothing to crow about. Best steak I had was at the sports bar, not the steak house itself !! Would never ever go back to this place !!Good luck
Traveler's tip:
If you choose to go to this overpriced, over-hyped hotel, beware!! It is all hype !! You could definitely get a better value by staying at home and mowing your lawn, or taking a trip to the dentist.

The water park that they have at atlantis is great. It was just my husband and I we don't have any kids so it wasn't so bad in cost but for all of you who have kids beware, its expensive for food and water. 12oz bottle was 3.75. I would go in town and buy snacks and water next time!! The service was good people are very friendly. We stayed at the royal towers which is right in the middle of all the action. We visited the cove but its a far trek if you like to play in the casino you will have at least a 10 minute walk back to your room at night.
Traveler's tip:
If your going to want to have a really nice dinner I would recommend Cafe Martines its one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at and I've been to a lot of nice places. Also I hear that Carmines is really Italian food and it looked good but they were booked up so make reservations in advance.

It is such a huge place and overall a wonderful get away for families. However, staff members are not friendly and very rarely smile. After a few days you will be able to locate certain amenities, but no help from the staff. Very pricey and you either pay with your credit card or key card, it's very rare you will find a shop that will take cash. The pools, beachs and grounds are beatiful. I would not recommend the spa. It is a place to take the kids and they will be busy the entire time. I would recommend families with children to go, your kids will have a blast. The casino slot/tables were very tight when I went. It appeared that the wheel of fortune was hitting alright but nothing to write home about. The humidity is off the rickter. Pay the extra cost for transportation to and from the airport it is worth it. The water at the beach is beatiful prettier than Hawaii. I stayed at the Royal Towers is central located to hit everything the beach tower section where the lazy river is I suggest going to that beach area, great outside bar and the water is the pretties there. Hope this helps anyone traveling to the Bahamas. Enjoy!
Pay for transportation to and from the airport it's worth it. Shuttle in no need to limo in. Bring your own snacks if possiable. Remember to always get a wrist band from the towel huts or you will not be able to go on the shark slide or the Mayan Temple slide.

Be forewarned...it is incredibly expensive. We were not disappointed in the Royal Towers room or the view at all; we could look out the "balconette" and see the dolphins jump, the beach and the lazy river. It was too cool!! But, be prepared for meal costs beyond your wildest imagination. Our family of 3 had 2 slices of pizza each, plus a couple of Red Bulls and a bottle of water, and it cost us just over $65.00. Yowza!! Later, we saw our first $13.00 grilled cheese sandwich, which made the pizza seem like more of a bargain. I imagine if you want to eat off-site you could find some reasonably-priced meals, but we figured after paying round trip taxi-fares to a bargain restaurant in Nassau for the three of us it would work out about the same. Disregarding the meal prices, there is such attention to detail in everything there, from the casino's octopus globe lights held up by dolphins and seahorses, to the gorgeous fountains everywhere, etc., we really believe we made the right decision to stay at the Royal Towers. We loved it all.
Traveler's tip:
We also took a snorkel trip with Stuart's Cove, and honestly, it was the most fabulous time!! The captain and crew were personable and informative, and the reefs and fish were beyond anything we had seen before, and we have snorkeled all over the Caribbean and Hawaii. Be sure you ask for Captain Keith...he and his crew know their stuff, for sure, and they are very funny, too!!
