Spectacular Honeymoon!

We had the most wonderful time at the Ritz. From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, the service at this resort was impecable. While we just relaxed and enjoyed the beach, pool, and resturants - there are many water activities avaliable to us as well. You would be remiss not to enjoy your holiday here.

Traveler's tip:

Don't forget to set aside some money for cabs! The Ritz is located on the other side of the island. You will need cash to travel to the nightlife and shopping down town. Finding a ride to and from is never a problem.

stayed better

diappointed in the service. I think it was due to the off peak season. The staff at especially the Sails dining facility were extremely short handed and service was very poor. The room was fine except for black mold in the shower area. The Spa is first class all the way.

Traveler's tip:

the shopping is fabulous. Great value at the jewelry stores for top quality merchandise.

Rooms are very well appointed and clean. Maid service excellent. Usually a little wait to be seated at breakfast and to have the coffee refilled despite it being mostly buffet. Beach attendants very helpful.

Our room was immaculate. All of the staff we encountered were gracious and professional. The grounds are impressive and the architecture charming.

After reading the other reviews, I was skeptical about paying so much for this trip. But, it is the Ritz, so I said, how bad could it be. Leaving from NYC I must warm first time St. Thomas visitors that the airport at St. Thomas has no air conditioning. Other than that, our stay at the Ritz was a top shelp experience. The food at the reseort was expensive, but we knew that going into this trip. (if you don't have a lot of money to spend on food and drinks, don't stay here.) The staff at the Ritz was friendly and more than willing to help. This was my first time at a Ritz hotel, and could only hope to stay at one on my next vacation.

I rented a car. This allowed me to come and go as I please. I was traveling with two children, and let me tell you that all those hills and turns from the airport to the hotel and really take a toll on the young ones.

My husband and I just returned. We were very pleased and will go back in the future. The construction was complete and we stayed in the new addition. Our room was beautiful and was an oceanview. I would also recommend booking the the half day trip on the Lady Lynsey. We went snorkeling and to Caneel Bay for a sunset dinner. I had no complaints.

Traveler's tip:

Take the Ferry to St. John and see the beaches.

We had the best time at the Ritz! This was our second trip here. Our first was for our honeymoon in 2007, and this trip was for an anniversary vacation. The renovations are complete (at least from the outside - no visible construction or noise), and the place looks great. The rooms are beautiful, and they have great views of the bay and St. John. Be sure to schedule at least a day on St. John. When we got to Hawksnest Bay, we were the only ones on the entire beach, and even Trunk Bay was not crowded. You can also take the snorkeling gear from the Ritz to St. John with you to avoid having to rent it there. The beach and pool at the Ritz were great, and we took advantage of the kayaks and snorkel gear. Also, the food was very good but overpriced. We'll definitely be back sometime in the future.

Traveler's tip:

Since the resort is not close to many restaurants and the food prices are quite high, bring breakfast foods with you.
