Just came back from a spectacular 36th Anniversay celebration. The staff here is attentive and always goes above and beyond. Food was great, grounds immaculate and accomodations had a wonderful oceanfront view. Going back next year for the 37th!

Traveler's tip:

Dine at the White Witch Golf Course both for lunch and dinner. The view is awesome because of the elevation.

Hotel was okay, nothing great. Definately not the quality of a Ritz hotel, more like a 3-4 star hotel. Food just okay, not worthy of the high prices. Spa was good, massage great, facilites again just okay. Other than the sign, you would never know you were in a Ritz property. Beach very small and rocky. No activities after 9p. Pool small for amount of people at hotel, LOTS of children. They messed up our bill, make sure you check yours. Got to get to pool by 6-7am to get a seat.

Traveler's tip:

We rented a car for $70 US and drove to Negril. Hotel was going to charge $300 for a car or taxi. The beaches are great there, the atmosphere much better, alive. Definately staying in Negril if we ever go back.

I loved the hotel. The staff was charming. Two drawbacks were: October is the WORST month - it's the rainiest. (Also cheapest hotel rates). Pool was lovely, but beach was nothing. Best beaches are in Negril, which I learned later. It's a "golf and spa" resort. Had the best massage ever. Excellent private yoga class, too. Enjoyed light fare in the Cohoba room, a sort of lounge; very cosy on a rainy day! Not near any towns; one shopping area is closeby. The decor, with mahagony woodworking and warm carpets throughout, was charming and inviting. The staff were almost too attentive. They were very sweet and chatty, since the hotel was about half empty. It poured down rain the two full days I had there, but this was exceptional, even for October.

Overall, my family and I had a great time in Jamaica and at the Ritz. We've stayed at other Ritz hotels and this one rates as one of the best. The hotel was fantastic and the staff was very friendly and attentive to any need we had. Any probelms we had were rectified quickly. While the food was very pricey it was also very good. The only problem we had during our vacation (which wasn't the Ritz's fault)was Hurricane Dean passing by the Island on the day we were to depart. Since we could not get out early and were stuck, we witnessed excellent emergency planning by the staff of the Ritz. All guests were safely secured in the ballroom and we were well fed and taken care of. We never realized we had a dangerous cat 5 hurricance passing by us. They also accomodated us for the extra days we had to be on the Island due to Dean. All in all, Jamaica is a great vacation spot and the Ritz showed they know how to take care of their guests in times of pleasure and need. We are already planning our return trip to the Ritz Rose Hall!!

Traveler's tip:

Be careful of the Dunn's River Falls climb. It's not as easy as others may want you to believe especially with small kids.

We expected more from the hotel, It was nice, and the service was very good, but the food at the restauarants was just average, and did not compare to food at other ritz carltons, which as made more dissapointing by the fact that its almost impossible to leave the compound to find other things, but that is to be expected I think.

The staff at this hotel was extremely rude and unhelpful. We did not book our day activities through expedia because we wanted to see what the hotel had to offer. They did not answer any questions or address any concerns. Our sheets were not changed for 4 of the 5 nights we stayed and we were not reimbursed any of our money. The extent of the maid service was emptying our trash cans and giving us new amentities. I was extremely displeased, especially considering the amount of money we paid.

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED my stay most recently at the Ritz-Carlton. I'm hoping to go back by the end of the year or next year for sure. Everything from the environment, hostility, service, dining and entertainment was fabulous!!! I enjoyed my stay with my boyfriend to it's fullest. I totally thank the Ritz for such a wonderful vacation.

It was a very romantic setting and the service was exceptional. The food was good but a the breafast buffet could have been better. Overall, very good value for the money.

Traveler's tip:

Dunns River falls tour entails you climbing up the falls. Take some water shoes to save $5.

Our stay was nice, it was not great. I believe it could have been better if there had been more activities in and around the hotel. The tours were over-rated and quite costly. The food was extreemly expensive...

Traveler's tip:

Not enough shopping in the area of the hotel. Only the Half Moon village.

The stay at the hotel was a great experience, it is a must to get the all-inclusive packages especially the key to paradise package. It covers all food and drink there at the resort. If not the prices for the items on the menu's can be quite expensive.

I would have originally preferred to stay at an all-inclusive resort which I may still do next time but I have no regrets. Other than the Rtiz-Carlton Rose Hall not being as ritzy as I chose it for, I was very impressed with the pleasantness of the staff. From the free water activities, to the Dr. Juice's daily smoothie bar by the pool (which was like stepping into a nice warm bath by the way), to the free reggae dance lessons, to the private beach sections, free shuttles into town, and so much more. I highly recommend it if you want a great stay in Jamaica without all the noise and touristy diversions of being right in the middle of Montego Bay. It's only a 20 min. taxi ride, the drivers are great and well worth the seclusion.

This hotel was amazing. It is extremely well maintained and provided very helpful and courteous staff. The food was excellent and they also had good options for children. The only disappointment was that the beach in front of the hotel was very and difficult to enjoy with children who want to wade in the water. Despite this, I would definitely return.

Traveler's tip:

Dunn river falls and the seven mile beach in Negril si a must see on this trip.

Overall, the vacation was excellent! I recommend this place to anyone. The service was 5 star!

Traveler's tip:

Take a bus to Negril and dont take the hotel shuttle from the airport. You can take a hotel sponsored cab for $25. In addition, the cab fares get expensive, so negotiate and budget for this. I did not find that the all inclusive package justified the price. We ate at whatever and whenver we wanted and still came well under the all inclusive package price. Great Vacation!

My wife and I spent week at the Ritz Rose Hall over the week of July 4th. We were in a 1 bedroom suite with ocean view. The Suite was wonderful however both TVS were ancient 27 inch tubes and did not have any easy interactive capibilities. The closet space was tight. The bathroom was wonderful Out main complaint was with the pool which was small, shallow and always crowded. There should be another pool. The beach was small and rocky. The service was great across the board. The food good but expensive. We have stayed at 3 other Ritz properties and we were surprised by the lack of new and upgraded resort ammenities. The gym was small with old equipment.

Traveler's tip:

Dine at the White Witch and watch the sunset ovber the ocean.
