One of the finest hotels I have stayed in. Nicest on Grand Cayman, hands down. Impeccable service, excellent concierge. Great deals on rooms in fall season. Beach a bit crowded, but tolerable. Cost of drinks at bar outrageous. (note to Ritz - just because someone can afford a nice hotel room, does not mean that they will pay an absurd amount of money at hotel bars for frozen drinks. Seriously reconsider your prices). Some hotel restaurants overpriced. Good eats elsewhere on the island. However, despite these gripes, if you are looking for a nice getaway, the Ritz is where it's at. Family-friendly. Movie night at Periwinkle great for kids and parents. Will certainly return to both Cayman and Ritz.

Traveler's tip:

Rent a car. Cabs are expensive, rental cars reasonable. Car will allow freedom to run to town, restaurants, airport. Avis at hotel and airport, very user friendly. Also, Foster's food fair (full-service supermarket) is 5 min. walk from hotel. Hit the duty-free on the way to Cayman, get snacks at Foster's, have cocktail hour/hours d'ouvers on your deck for ALOT cheaper than the hotel bars. If shopping in Georgetown, avoid tuesday to thursday. Cruise ships in town then, and it is a mob scene.

The hotel itself wasn't Ritz Carlton like because the sheets weren't pristine, the couch and curtains had stains, and there was a hole the size of a lemon in the bathroom. The ocean view wasn't expansive because there were condo's restricting the view on the left and on the right. The best part of it though was the staff. These guys were some of the nicest people I've ever met. Concierge was very helpful, the restaurants had great staffs, and beach service was untouchable. I highly recommend "Blue", awesome food but you will pay for it. Don't go for sushi there, it was not worth it. Try the pontoon trip where they take you to sting ray city and some light snorkeling. The Ritz was a great place to stay overall.

the rooms and hotel in general are impeccably maintained. service was exceptional. the pool/beach area are lovely and very convenient to the oceanfront rooms. food at the restaurants was varied, customer preferences adjusted without a problem and the food was very well prepared. the spa was very relaxing with a very different feel than many and some interesting specialty treatments. the hotel was quite convenient to other island sights/restaurants. The concierge recommendations for outside dining on the mark. We will go back!

Traveler's tip:

outside dining on the island was variable. We had an absolutely marvelous dinner at the Calypso Grill in an idyllic setting on a large outside deck over the water. We found some of the local "colorful" bars less than delightful- the "regulars" were rather rude and crude and the food less than great.

The property is beautiful and the beach is perfect. But the service is almost non-existent. The reason to go to any Ritz-Carlton is the consistently high level of service and pampering. This was not true at the Grand Cayman Ritz. We had to get up from the beach to find anyone to get us drinks. It was as if we were interrupting the staff from their lounging. What's the point in having a concierge if they never help with anything and only tell you what can't be done? Also, the food and drinks were mediocre at best. For the price, not worth it. I'll stay somewhere wlse next visit.

Traveler's tip:

Yoshi sushi is great. And don't miss the Cracked Conch--everything there is delicious. Also, get to Gateway to India, the only Indian restaurant on the island, and order the Lobster Jalfrezi--delicious.

i was impressed the minute i walked into the hotel with all the luxurious surroundings. they have a lot of their own water sports such as sailing that you can do. the spa is unique and they serve snacks to the guests as they're waiting for treatment. the food was really really good but expensive.

Traveler's tip:

i walked a five minute walk to the local kfc and grocery store because the food at the ritz is expensive.

The Ritz is unbeleivably beautiful! From the impeccable grounds there were never leaves on the ground to the beautiful beach and pool. The service was outstanding from the cleaning crew to the management. THe concierege was also very helpful for anything we needed. The only down side was it was very very expensive to drink and eat there. So, we got beer and liquor from a close store and took it to the beach which is allowed it saved us a ton of money. Go to EATS for breakfast and lunch it will also save you money and is very good. We stayed 8 nights and had a blast can't wait to go back.

Traveler's tip:

Go to the turtle farm and stingray city it was a lot of fun!

The hotel and location are almost perfect. This property was very clean and well run - the staff was very friendly and helpful. The food and restuarant were very good, although expensive. In fairness, food through out the island is on the high side.

We visited here for our 25th anniversary. THese people really understand what service is about. In our opinion, this is the best on 7 mile beach, probably on the entire island.

Traveler's tip:

You can get a cheap car from rental at the Ritz and explore the island and/or get off site for interesting places to eat. Avoid Tues,Wed, Thur when cruise ships are in.

Top notch service, beautiful rooms, grounds , beach and pool area. Well equipped and spacious fitness area. The spa is amazing!Attention to detail at every turn. Off season rates are more palatable then high season. If you have the opportunity and can handle the prices, stay at this hotel.

I can honestly say that our stay at The Ritz Carlton on Grand Cayman was by far the most relaxing vacation we have ever gone on. Every employee was an absolute joy to be around. The room was beautiful and so comfortable. They have an amazing children's program that teaches kids about the environment and shows them a great time. We would highly recommend this vacation to anyone.

The hotel was great in all ways until hurricane warnings of Dean came in. The front desk was poorly organized and we got mixed messages regarding availability of flights, how and when we could get off the island. We felt they had a poor relationship with the airport and Cayman Airlines due to our experienced hostilities from their staff. We felt that the hotel and Island needed a better hurricane plan.

The Ritz Carlton hotel was wonderful. It was extreamly clean and everyone at the hotel was very friendly and accomodating. The restaurants at the hotel were great. There is a tiffany and co. store there that has great jewelry! The 7 mile beach was beautiful and the snorkeling is a must! This was one of the nicest hotels that I have stayed at and I can't wait to go back!

Traveler's tip:

You must snorkel in the Cayman Islands and you must also check out Stingray city where you swim with stingrays and go to rum point which is a relaxing spot that is great for a day trip!

We just returned from a 5 night stay at the Ritz Carlton. The service is just amazing. The food and drinks and special treats brought to you on the beach are great. Every staff person is extremely pleasant and helpful. It is on the best part of 7 mile beach and complimentary snorkeling right off the beach is fun. We never left the resort except to eat out at dinner a few nights. The food at the restaurants was great. Room service food was not as good. The only negatives were having to pay for internet usage and the beach area can get crowded with all the chairs and chairtops. You may not get a great view of the beach if you don't get out early. But the beach chairs are serviced by the staff and are extremely comfortable. We would not hesitate to stay here again. We have never been treated better at a hotel and grand cayman is the best vacation relaxation place to go.

Traveler's tip:

We used the small refrigerator in the room and went to the grocery store to get some breakfast and lunch items. This saved quite a bit of money as eating out in grand cayman can be quite expensive.

The Ritz was very nice but luxury does come at a price. The service was excellent! The staff do everything they can to accomodate you. The resort side is nice and quieter than the residence side...however you are across the street from the beach. The cost for food at the hotel was ridiculous but there are plenty of other places to eat within walking distance. Overall...a great place to stay.

Traveler's tip:

If you want a great steak dinner...try Copper Falls steak house...the food was excellent. For every day breakfast or lunch...Eats and Legends were great with very reasonable prices.

This Hotel was great. We went the first week in July for our Honeymoon and it was wonderfully relaxing. The Cabanas and Lounge chairs on the beach were first class. They even set it up for you each time you came out to the beach. The hotel is directly on the Water, not a better location on the Island. The staff was incredibly friendly, every employee that we walked by said Hello or good evening, except one Chambermaid. Wonderful snorkeling directly in front of Hotel. We had a garden View Room, the least expensive, but just great. 4 Miute walk to beach. No reason to spend more for a resort view, all you get is the Pool view. Ocean view would be great, but just a TAD out of our price range. There is a Supermarket within Walking distance for Sodas and Such. Ritz's Prices were a tad high, but it is the Ritz. Food was pretty good, but defintly venture into Georgetown for Shopping and Dinner. 5 Star Definitly. Couldn't ask for a better hotel for our Honeymoon.

Traveler's tip:

Shop at the Supermarket (IGA) Within walking distance for snacks and Sodas for the room. We had snacks for breakfast and thorughut the day. Also, go off the hotel grounds for dinner. It will save you a lot of Cash.

Can't say enough about this place. It was our second stay in the last year. It is really difficult to leave and come back home after such a great experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Traveler's tip:

Excellent watersports from scuba, snorkling, sighting via sail boat, cayaking, etc. Food and drinks everywhere on the island is excellent but expensive. I would definately recommend the Reef Grill on Seven Mile Beach. Great nightlife on Friday and Saturday night. Great food for lunch and dinner. Right on the beach.

All I can say is "1st class all the way"!

Traveler's tip:

Stingray City is the most awesome experience and it is the only place in the world that you can play with these friendly creatures. What ever you do don't miss this adventure. My husband was reluctant to go because of the terrible tragedy that had happened to the Crocodile Man, but when we got there he was amazed that they let you pet them just like puppies:) This is a must do!

My family and I have just returned from a stay at the Ritz-Carlton Cayman Island. This is an incredible hotel from top to bottom. Guests are welcomed with punch and cookies. The decor and artwork throughout the hotel is beautiful. Although we unfortunately did not have the best weather, (some cloudy and some rainy days) the staff was top-notch. Cool face clothes were dispensed on the beach, small cups of banana daquiris, frappacinoes, fruit kabobs, etc. were provided beach side. The $15.00 a day resort fee provides use of kayaks, snorkeling equipment ( which we took to Cemetery Beach which was recommended to us by the outdoor staff), floats, & peddle boats. The pools are beautiful too! My teenagers made good use of the exercise room and its extensive fitness equipment. Food is expensive at the hotel and elsewhere on the island but I highly recommend EATS cafe a short walk from the Ritz (great breakfasts!).

Traveler's tip:

EATS cafe for breakfast (huge delicious breakfasts). We had dinner there one night and it was good too.
