A great place to stay. I recommend this hotel although the front desk should be clear about the usage of the indoor pool for all customers after 6:30 p.m. I only discovered this on the last day.

Traveler's tip:

Go downtown to Cafe Cairo and The Lobster Pot.

We both absolutely adore the Southampton Fairmont! The service, ambiance, dancing to the Joe Wylie Band which we so look forward to on each of our numerous visits is uncompareable anywhere else. We have traveled the world and always tell everyone Bermuda is our favorite travel place and the Southampton our favorite hotel. Always look foreward to returning there soon!

Traveler's tip:

We highly recommend the Southampton for numerous reasons......ambiance, quality of service, dancing, view and choices of dining, especially the Ports Dining Room. It is elegant!

We stayed four nights during the Bermuda Jazz Festival October 2-6, it was the best hotel on the island. Everyone was really nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and we had a great view of the ocean and lighthouse. After the concerts we spent the nights downstairs listening to live music and socializing until 3:30 am. Great place to meet people and saw the stars daily (Steve Harvey and the morning show, Regina King, Kim Whitley, Tommy Davidson.... It was an incredible experience. I can't wait to go back next year.

Traveler's tip:

Visit the city(Hamilton) and eat at Portofino's, Hog Penny, and Tia Pepe was great. Dining in the hotel can be expensive. Overall, it was one of my best vacations, I think this will be an annual event. Take the city bus to save money, renting a scooter is not the safest thing to do, unless your use to riding a motercycle. The hotel trolly will take you to the beach and to the ferry. Take the ferry to Hamilton, compliments of the hotel. This is a GREAT way to see the island by water.

Enjoyed the nightly entertainment and dancing. The beach was wonderful especially with the access to Horseshoe Bay directly next door. Staff was prompt and couteous. Food and drinks were expensive, but to be expected at a four star resort. Enjoyed the hotel and all of its amenities!

Traveler's tip:

The hotel has pop music and dancing in the Cellar Nightclub and semi ballrom music and dancing in the Jasmine Lounge - Take your pick!

The hotel staff treated you like royalty from the moment of arrival. We stayed on the Concierge level and could not have had a better experience. The hotel offered an array of services, the grounds were immaculate, the food was exceptional, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure a great experience.

We love the Fairmont Southampton. It was our second stay. The restaurants are excellent and the service is outstanding. The hotel is beautiful and maintained at a very high level. The proximity to Horseshoe Bay Beach is a big plus.

The hotel is beautiful, the help friendly, courteous and helpful. The pool, beach and transportation made the stay very pleasant. Rooms are large and comfortable. The beds needs updating, not that comfortable compared to some of the hotels with their luxury surfaces, the hotel is pricey so I would expect all the luxury. The resturants, while very good are extremely costly even compared to city dining. I think their should be more variety and not all fine dining. Perhaps a pub type would be good and a family place for all meals.

Traveler's tip:

Bacci was our favorite of the resturants

Everything worked well, it is an excellent place to stay in Bermuda in every way: excellent restaurants, onsite motoscooter rental, beach-side restaurants and swimming.

Traveler's tip:

Motorscooters is the only way to see the island! First day, drive north, have klunch at fort. Second day, drive east, have lunch at St. George.

Great hotel! Restaurants are fabulous and pricey but so is everything in Bermuda. My wife and I enjoyed the first class spa, indoor and outdoor pool facilities but most of all, the beach is absolutely spectacular. Onsite executive par 3 golf course is a fun diversion with great vistas of the Atlantic. Location of the hotel is perfect...close to Hamilton Harbour and the Atlantic Ocean.

The hotel was full. Many weddings. The help were helpful and pleasant but multi tasking. Out room was not made up one day until after five. The maid was serving at a large luncheon. The food was excellent. We had a wonderful time and will go back again.

The Fairmont Southampton has deteriorated from a fine hotel to a place where badly behaved guests and their appalling children are allowed to run roughshod over the peace and quietude of adult guests. Shouting, pounding feet, interlopers in the Fairmont Gold facilities are part of the destruction of this formerly fine hotel's reputation.

While I credit the hotel with the quality of what could be SEEN, the service area was remiss. From too few wait staff in the pool area, children on rafts in the hot tub (what??!!) insufficient spaces for spa appointments, not enough tables for dinner in Jasmine, and multiple errors on a single room service order, it was clear that customer service has a way to go. Nonetheless, I would return just making other arrangements for pampering.

Traveler's tip:

Take public buses - taxis are outrageous!

The room & view we got was like paradise, awakening with the island's clear blue water, lovely palm trees & a beautiful view of all the coloful homes. The staff in all areas were very acknowledging, pleasant, kind,& friendly. Many thanks to the staff of this hotel. Thanks again

For a quick refresher, Bermuda is perfect if you live in NYC - its just over a 2 hour flight and customs was easy to navigate. I was apparently there during high season but it didn't feel crowded. The Fairmont Southhampton is large and quite luxurious - you get what you pay for and they certainly are not afraid to charge you top rates for everything. The only prices I felt were OVER THE TOP were at the hotel's spa (I should have questioned the prices before showing up for appointments) - a special 1 hour pedi was $125 and not worth it. My boyfriend's facial was supposed to be a hour long and ran shorter. I would avoid their so-called top end spa but the rest of the amenities and the stay were quite lovely.

Traveler's tip:

Coconuts at the Reef Resort is a gorgeous, romantic setting for dinner. Its a prefix, 3-course menu for about $70pp. The food was average but the setting is well worth it.

The Southampton was a beautiful hotel. It is great for families and couples because there is so much to do on the hotel site as well as many places to eat. It is also on the beach! As a group of single women we would have preferred the sister hotel- the Hamilton Princess- due to proximity to the town and bars/restaurants/shops. But Southampton was wonderful and would recommend it to anyone.

Went to the Fairmont for four days/three nights. Was very pleased with everything. It's a big hotel so it takes a little time to get familiar with everything but there's lots to see and do onsite and nearby. It's not located right on a beach, but the hotel provides shuttle service to its private beach every 15 minutes...it's less than 5 minutes ride. Golf course there is just par 3 but exquisite with tremendous views of the ocean and hillside homes. Only complaint was that table service was a bit slow in the hotel restaurants...not because the servers were bad but perhaps understaffed at those times. Overall, a really nice place to stay. If you want small, quiet, secluded romance, though, this isn't the place for that. Otherwise, highly recommended.

Traveler's tip:

Take the free hotel ferry to the Hamilton Princess if you want to visit Hamilton. The Hamilton Fairmont is just a short walk to the restaurants, parks, and shops in town.

The Fairmont Southampton Hotel is a great place to stay. Close to the beach with many, many amenities. But the Hotel looks like it was build in the 70s and never remodeled. There are certain things that don't quite work in your room, but the view makes you forget everything. The common places (pools, restaurants, Golf course) are all impecable. I wish they would spend some moent to upgrade the rooms, which by the way are huge. Walk-in closet and all!

Despite some lukewarm reviews, I found the resort extremely nice with some great amenities. Some of the amenities, such as the beach, tennis, golf course, and Waterlot restaurant are a moderate walk away, but they had a series of trolleys running from quite early to quite late each day that took you around. The beach is extremely nice, and is literally next door to one of the greatest beaches in the world -- Horseshoe Bay (also easily accessible from the trolleys). There was a braod array of restaurant choices, including the 5-diamond Newport Room (pricey but exquisite service) down to the pool- and beach-side grills. Service was attentive and generally quite solid, but we had occasional breakdowns (lost room service order; missed gold shuttle).

Traveler's tip:

Take the beach trolley down to the beach, but instead of going to the private beach, pass through the wrought-iron gate and make a right. World-famous Horseshoe Bay beach is right there.
