Nice resort

We picked this hotel based on prior traveler's opinions. In General, we were very impressed. It is a quiet, lovely location right on the beach. Our room was 20-30 feet from the beach. Beautiful grounds. The staff was very attentive although some a little 'stuffy' as the British influence is very evident. Food was very good although not sure worth the price. We had several meals off the resort. Some little things in our room needed attention but overall very nice. We did visit some other resorts and you might find better value at these. We would, however, stay here again.

Traveler's tip:

Many good choices off the resort for better value.

The Fairmont Pavilion Hotel was excellent, and the hotel staff was AMAZINGLY helpful and courteous. We felt as if the whole hotel was dedicated to giving us a great experience. I recommend the ocean front rooms, because the view is excellent.

Traveler's tip:

Top notch attractions - the Island Safari, The Plantation, Brown Sugar restaurant, and Mango's By The Sea restaurant

This hotel was wonderful. The rooms and balconies are big, all facing the ocean. There is only one pool, (which was not an issue for us) but the beach is so beautiful, we hardly ever used the pool. Food was very good and staff were friendly and helpful. I can't praise it enough and will definitely go back

We were greeted with enthusiasm and a glass of champagne and that set the tone for how we would be treated the entire time. We were not overwhelmed with people they just quietly tended to our every need. The setting is beautiful and every room has a fantastic view!

Traveler's tip:

take a trip on a bus to the other side of the island - the Atlantic side is completely different and you can stop at the bus stop in the middle of the island to see the animals and unbelievable views!

Overall I found this hotel to be great. You cant argue with the fact that each room has it's own balcony overlooking the sea. My wife and I both found it a very relaxing environment and enjoyable vacation. If I had to find fault I would say that I did find most of the restaurants in the surrounding area to be fairly expensive (Even compared to NYC and London), although they were nice. The beach vendors were also an annoyance

Traveler's tip:

I wouldnt bother with the hotel restaurants unless you are feeling lazy. Room service was only 5 BDS delivery charge and no more expensive so why not just eat on your balcony. Most of the local restaurants seem to be high end so expect to pay for it.

The Fairmont Royal Pavilion was exactly what my fiancee and I needed to get away from the stress of everyday life. The staff was extremely accomodating and the grounds are lovely. The beaches are beautiful and the food was tasty. If you're looking for a vacation where you can completely 'get away from it all' I recommend this hotel in Barbados!

Traveler's tip:

You can go water skiing for no charge, which we didn't find out till the last day. The vendors are a little annoying as well as the bugs.

This was one of our favorite hotels ever. We were on our honeymoon and after much indecision about where to go, decided on Barbados and the Royal Pavillion and what a great choice! The hotel is not a huge, fancy extravaganza with 8 pools, but it is a beautiful boutique hotel with understated elegance, great comfort, a fabulous staff and incredible scenery. Gorgeous beach and gardens. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and all balconies look out onto the ocean and sunset. It was peaceful and relaxing. The staff were like our friends by the time we left - so gracious, genuine and attentive. We could not have asked for a better honeymoon and it's all thank to the Royal Pavillion!!!!

I am delighted to have discovered the Royal Fairmont Pavillion! So beautiful! In the middle of paradise! The staff was so patient and helpful. The plants and landscaping and the birds singing were so pretty. My favorite part was the beach, the water is ideal for swimming and enjoying lazy days. I will be back. The only thing- the beds were kinda hard, could have been more comfortable. Other than this I had a great vacation largely because of you.

Traveler's tip:

Go on the day long cruise and swim w/the turtles!
