Serena is a brand new condo residence, Restoration Hardware furniture, Pottery Barn dishes, Krups small appliances & L'Occitane toiletries. Our package included breakfast - delicious! and we opted to eat at the restaurant and order room service in the evenings. Every dish was beautifully presented, simple ingredients, fresh seafood and amazing flavor. We stayed in building 'B', still under construction, so we had to call 5 times in one night to get the A/C fixed. I have no doubt that once the construction is 100% complete, it will be lovely. There is also construction on a condo across the water so constant noise from that as well. Serena is NOT located near the main strip (15 min cab ride) nor is it 'on the water', but on a small marina. There is nothing walking distance (unless you want to get in a round of golf), so you do need to take taxis (approx 90 pesos into town). I would also suggest that you go to 'Mega' or 'Soriana' grocery store on your way in. They leave for you coffee, soft drinks, wine bottles, cookies, cereal, milk, etc. but you will be charged for each item you consume --- even bottled water! The pool is not heated. They do have a hottub on the opposite side though, which is very nice. Overall, beautiful resort and food, a little isolated but if you want a quiet vacation or are there with a few other people, it is lovely. Enjoy!

I visited Serena by myself for a "get-away" vacation. Serena has its own boat and crew, and I spent a wonderful day out in the Pacific ocean doing some bottom fishing. The staff at Serena is very friendly and bilingual, they catered to my every need and made me feel at home. The golf course was just outside of the entrance, and made for a great day.
Traveler's tip:
Use the roundtrip transportation to the airport, it saves you money and time.

My girlfriend and I were planning a trip to Mazatlan with two other couples Of course all of us wanted some privacy, and renting 3 rooms at all of the normal hotels in the area seemed quite expensive. Serena seemed like the perfect option... the "suites" have 3 separate bedrooms, a large living area, a large waterfront balcony, and also a "full" kitchen!!!! It was very luxurious and we saved a lot of money at the same time. The experience was beyond our expectations and we recomend it highly to all traveling as a group. We will never stay in a normal hotel "room"again.
Traveler's tip:
There are a lot of great restaurants in mazatlan, but take advantage of the kitchen, there is a modern grocery store called "Soriana" only 10 minutes away from Serena... It saved us a lot of money!!!!!

My wife and I went to Serena Residences with our 2 children ( ages 13 and 15) for Easter vacation. We had heard that Mazatlan is very crowded and noisy during this time of year, but upon our arrival we found the atmosphere at Serena very calm and relaxing. On our second day we went for a cruise in the bay and it was awesome. The kids really enjoyed hanging around the pool, my wife took advantage of the private massage service, and I managed to find time to play a couple rounds of golf. The fact that the kids had their own bedroom was also a plus for my wife and I!!!! Serena definitely made for a great family vacation
Traveler's tip:
The hotel has a 26ft power catamaran available for rent with a captain. It was just us and the open sea.... don't miss it!!!
