I recently went to visit jamaice and i stayed here based on word of mouth.. i was not disappointed. it was very nice the ride from airport to the hotel was very long so be prepared and they staff was very accomodating

I've stayed at many different all inclusive resorts, but this one was way above my expectations. Overall services was excellent.

The hotel was very relaxing and comfortable. The staff was friendly and provided the best service. The pool and beach were beautiful and the food was great. Overall, it was a wonderful trip and an excellent resort. I would highly recommend it.

Wow, what service! We took the trip mainly for my husbands birthday and it was a perfect place to celebrate. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel was beautiful. I was suprized by the quality of the food. I was expecting it to taste like it was mass produced, but it really was good. I would go back in a minute. Thanks!

My daughter and I had a great time. The variety of food was fantastic. We went to the restaurants and enjoyed the great service. The shows were fantastic and entertaining. There was plenty to eat, especially the Jerk shack. The pools were relaxing. There were plenty of activities to keep you busy or just relax on the beach. Service was great. My room was excellent. I would come again and I have recommended this place to everyone. My daughter and I had a great time.

The room, the beach, the pools, the hotel were all great! Everything was absolutely beautiful and the staff very friendly and helpful. The food was good, but not great. We ate well, but did not ever stuff ourselves. The steak at Mamie Bay was to die for, but you had to make reservations so we only ate there once. Overall, we had a wonderful time and can not wait to go back!

Although this is a "family resort", we do not recommend taking children as there were women sunbathing topless on the beach. Hopefully in the future, if the resort continues to provide accomidations for children, they will put a stop to that.

i was very happy with the hotel for the most part - the only slight complaint is that the rooms are a bit musty and the blankets need to be washed to get musty smell out other than that - great place to stay and great people

I was extremely disappointed with this hotel. I paid extra for a room with a jacuzzi only to find out it did not work. When I called the desk to alert them they said "yeah we know". Four days later it was still not fixed. I had to make a scene before they finally moved me to another room. Customer service is obviously not a familiar term to them. The food was bland with little variety. The drinks were worse- no variety and poor quality. While the property was beautiful (but obviously not well maintained except for the landscaping) I would not recommend this hotel.

This resort was an excellent choice for a fun vacation getaway! The property, staff, and entertainment were great. There is always something to do and somethng to keep you busy. I was extremely impressed with the appearance of the resort(it is much nicer than you would expect). Overall the RIU is WELL worth the price of the trip. I will definetly go to another Riu resort on my next trip.

I loved my trip to Jamaica. The water, beach and hotel were amazing. The all inclusive part was great when it came to drinks. A couple of things I didn't like were that the bartenders don't really acknowledge you at first and the buffet food. I'm kind of a picky eater & didn't like eating the same thing every single day. Other than that it was perfect!

We loved the hotel, food, and beach. The only problem we had wa contant harrassing of the locals. They would get rowdy after smoking pot all day. Security said they couldn't do much. They were working on getting a wall on the side where they all came in. Another famous all-inclusive does a better job with this.

My all-inclusive was well worth the price. I enjoyed every aspect of my vacation. The Rio Ocho Rios was comfortable, well maintained, friendly, and entertaining. By the end of our stay we had befriended several of the staff and the entertainment crew. The atmosphere was so relaxing with the beautiful beach shaded by palm trees, carribean music playing, and a constant cool breeze. Truly a vacation with 'No problems mon'.

We had the Junior suite. The room was great. The people are so nice. Everywhere you look they are cleaning this hotel. I went with my 2 children 6 and 8. This is their slow time so not too many kids and out of the 5 days they only went 2 for a few hours- no one was there the rest of the time. Not much for kids compared to other hotels - like waterpark and lazy rivers, etc. The nightly entertainment not too good, but they try. Overall my husband and I had a very relaxing time and would definitely go back again.

Everything was fantastic! Usually we don't like the entertainment shows of Hotels but at the RIU Ocho Rios the entertainment was very, very, very nice. Some of the evening shows were better than expensive Broadway shows. Definitely we'll return for a second visit.

My husband and I just returned from a 6 day stay at the RIU Ocho Rios and we have nothing but positive things to say about our stay. The resort is absolutely stunning and is surrounded with breathtaking views of the ocean. Our room was quite comfortable and quite large compared to a lot of hotels, which was a relief since I was concerned about not having booked a suite. We were catered to the entire trip and the staff was always very accommodating when we needed something. The food and drinks were more than plentiful and there was quite a variety. One suggestion would be to make your reservations for those restaurants that take advance reservations on the day you arrive. I never had any trouble making reservations but in past reviews I've read that some have. I've stayed a number of all inclusive resorts over the years (some very expensive) and I can honestly say that the RIU was the best I've stayed at so far. I highly reccommend a stay here!

This was my first stay at a RIU hotel and I can say that it won't be my last. The hotel was lovely not your typical beach resort. Well appointed rooms lovely decor. The staff was friendly and courteous. There was plenty to do to keep you entertained and the food was wonderful. The entertainment team work very hard and did a great job. They seemed to really like what they were doing. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Jamaica

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at Riu Ocho Rios. I had a junior suite and it was much more than what I expected. The room was beautiful and our view from the balcony was amazing. This hotel has the friendliest and the most attentive staff I have ever seen. The pool is great and the beach is unreal. I am 100% satisfied with my stay at this hotel..

The hotel was great. The only problem is that it takes 2 hours to get there from the airport.

Let me start of by saying this was paradise. Although, it took 1.5 hrs to get to the hotel from the airport the ride was not bad. Upon arrival at the hotel we were greeted with a drink while we were checking-in. The view of the beach from the lobby was spectacular. When I opened the door to the room I was impressed b/c I'm a germaphobic and I was expecting the worse. The rooms were actually clean and everything looked brand new. I still recommend bring sanitizing wipes along to wipe down the room :) The view of the beach from our balcony was amazing. The drinks from the bar were a little weak but, all you have to do is ask them for more liquor. To my surprise I didn't use the liquor dispenser in the room like I thought I would. The food from the buffet was o.k. I'm a very picky eater so they didn't have much for me. Also, it's very important that you make reservations for the restaurants. They will not seat you w/o one. The beach was clean and relaxing. Towards the end of the week the electricity keep going off and on. It was a bit of an inconvience if you were in the shower and in the restaurant waiting to be served. Other than that I had a blast! Don't forget to go to the Jerk Hut on the beach and get the Bedrock massage from the spa. It's worth it.

We stayed in a Jacuzzi Suite at the RIU for our Honeymoon. We were there for 5 nights. All the staff was friendly and ready to help when we needed it, as long as you understand "Jamaica time." The all-inclusive features were great, with 7 bars, numerous restaurants, "snack buffet," and a 24-hour sports bar with limited snacks also. They offered dance lessons, activities, and nightly entertainment, as well as a disco (dance club). The ONLY negatives were that our room smelled of lingering smoke, and one night we were woken up at 4am by them repairing some broken tile-work directly below our suite. The views from the rooms are amazing, and the hotel is definitely worth a stay.

RIU Ocho Rios all inclusive is less than a year old, so it is clean and modern in design. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food and drinks are plentiful and great. Don't upgrade to a Jr. suite in hopes of gaining reservations to the nicer resturants unless you plan on getting on the reservation line promptly at 9 am and spending an hour redialing the reservation line. They won't make reservations for days ahead. The nightly entertainment shows are pretty crowded. Its close to most of the popular excursions and attractions. Five minutes from town by taxi.

Called for an Iron and i never got it other than that the hotel staff was very nice.
