From our first encounter with the staff this was a wonderful trip. This is an older hotel but still GREAT! we a an excellent room with a very comfortable bed that looked out onto the Ocean. the view from our balcony was perfection. The food was excellent! the menudo was the best I hae ever had in a resturant. The staff was so gracious. Shopping and resturants were just outside of he hotel. The massages were terrific. It was a very comfortable experience for us.

The room itself was somewhat unimpressive, but do you really want to spend all your time in the room anyway??? The staff was extremely friendly and talkative, and the food was delicious. We ate like pigs for the entire week! And with the classes you can take, you'll never be bored. Even more, it has its own roped off section of beach, which prevents some of the many beach vendors from harassing you every two seconds (they still try to get your attention, but at least if you're in the roped off area they can't get that close). I'd love to go back to Acapulco and the Ritz!

The hotel is okay considering its age, but like Acapulco city, it's in desperate need of modernisation. I went to Acapulco based on the fact it was the only Mecican city I had heard of on the Pacific coast and the famous Elvis film!! Hotel Review: One of the better hotels in the dirty city. Staff are friendly. Rooms are clean. Rates are expensive considering Acapulco is a dump. Beach location is nice but you might catch a nasty disease in the dirty sea-water! Hotel is all-inclusive. There is 1 main restaurant (buffet) where you can eat almost all day. There is 1 Italian restaurant that you have to pre-book and can only use once per week. Food in main restaurant serves a mixture of Mexican recipes and changes every night. The hotel has a small private beach but this does not stop people trying to sell you stuff all day long! Cabaret entertainment is okay. Tequila is wonderful.

Traveler's tip:

Only visit Acapulco for a weekend - no more! Take a city tour and go visit the famous rock divers. Acapulco is not pretty! There are lots of other resorts on the pacific coast which I'm told are cleaner with good hotels. Acapulco stinks a bit and is expensive. Go to Walmart for water etc.. Take a ride to Walmart on a colourful, noisy, cheap bus if you are feeling adventurous!

This is a very popular hotel: Is very crowded, very basic and the space is limited. If you don't mind all these then go ahead. The most unpleasant issue I had in this hotel was the food. We took the ALL-inclusive package, and we had to eat this horrible food for several days. Every day of course it was Mexican Food, but do not think this is "Mexican Food" like you will found on the American Restaurant Chains or even the Fast Food. The quality of ingredients was very bad, and they would serve some of the main courses for several days....to hell with "Tacos al Pastor"

Traveler's tip:

If you want to shop, hotel is convenienty located a Small Shopping Mall and other business. You can also find night clubs at walking distance.

My husband and I were celebrating our one-year wedding anniversary and decided this was not the place. We ended up checking out earlier and moving to a more secluded location. The hotel is good for families, but is a little too busy for couples. Also, if you are looking for a more modern and upscale place to stay, which we were, this is not the place. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel, although old, was VERY clean. Staff was also very understanding when we decided to check out early. Also the price was very reasonable. We would definitely recommend this hotel for families on a budget. Couples may want to look elsewhere.

Eventhough the room was clean, it was in a very noisy place of the building; please stay away from floor 15th. I couldn't sleep on my vacation.

The view is one of the best, easy access to downtown, shopping centers & handicraft markets. Meals & snacks are very good, drikns are somewhat small, though. Trips to the bar are a little annoying, but overall this hotel it's a great option when you don't want to worry about anything but lying on the beach.

It was a good experience over all, the people are very nice but the hotel is run down and old. It is in the older part of Acapulco and if you can spend a little more do so.

With my wife I traveled in Acapulco in July 2008. Hotrel Ritz has very good location, if you enjoy in peaceful enviromental, with a lot of litle shops, restaurants and also big shoping centres. Rooms were very clean, maintenance is very good, and special I can point up kindness of staff and excellent food. I would recomend this hotel to my friends.

This was my second time staying here and I was equally impressed both times. The staff is friendly. Get to know them and you'll have a great time. The guests tend to be laid back, friendly, and fun to socialize with. The majority of the guests were from Mexico, which is nice if you want to practice your Spanish and learn about their culture. The hotel is a little outdated, but in good, clean condition. The daily and nightly activities were entertaining. The food was good. I definitely recommend the Ritz and I'll be back again.

Traveler's tip:

Close location to shopping malls and the bus terminal if you would like to venture out to Taxco.

Hotel was nice, in a decent location. Hotel could have been more modern and have more choices for food. Not many non spanish speaking people staying at this hotel. Staff's English was minimal at best. Probably would not stay here again...there were other hotels in a better location that were closer to restaurants and clubs.

We wanted to get away and the Ritz was just what we were looking for. It had a lot of activities or you could just enjoy relaxing. Being from New Orleans where the food is excellent, I was a little concerned about the buffet food; however, it was wonderful! There was a wide variety, fresh fruit, deserts, etc. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend the Ritz and will definitely go back.

The best of Acapulco Ritz is the high quality of the service, hotel personnel is very kind and allways are ready to help you. Hotel is well located in central zone of the city very near of shop stores, reataurants, and 'antros'. Hotel infrastructure is old but it is well maintained. For this rate level, it is a good option.

We had a great time at the Ritz. We went in June during the off season, so most of the guests were bargin shoppers from Mexico City. But the staff and guests treated us like royalty. The food was good with a great variaty every night. Tequila was free flowwing, this is better place for adults rather than kids even though we did see a lot of kids and they do have kid activities at the Ritz. It was a bit humid in June, but the pool and the ocean felt great. Really clean beach area and great location in the middle of the bay. We found that most staff spoke at least some english and everyone was so polite. The shows are very funny and entertaining, the staff really puts 100% into their acting. We are going back...

Traveler's tip:

Don't let the taxi people at the airport fool you, it should only cost $20 (200 peso) for the ride to the Ritz.

If you are looking for total relaxation, not a lot of loud teenagers, college kids and young adults......this is the place to go. Very affordable for families with young children or those 40+. Hotel does not have disco, but nightly excursions accompanied by the entertainment staff(ES)are offered. ES are fun, friendly and very energetic. I enjoyed the water aerobics, water volleyball and water polo imensely. Undertow is very strong, so we stayed away from the beach. Food was EXCELLENT. Drinks were not watered down. Would definitely go again.
