First, Turks and Caicos can't be beat. The beaches are great and the Ocean is a beautiful Teal blue. The hotel is right on the beach in an area close to all the good restaurants. The employees are very helpful and friendly. The food at the hotel is great. I was very satisfied with Ocean Club and would definitely come back

Traveler's tip:

Rent a car for no more than 2 days. That is all you need. The rest of the time will be spent on or near the beach

This property is very well kept. The condominium style room had all kitchen amenities. The staff is very professional and polite and willing to work with people that don't know all the details. The location allows for a broad expanse of beach - which translates into privacy. I already have plans to return there next year.

Traveler's tip:

The island industry is geared towards tourism, there are many attractions and activities available.

A Wonderful Place to Stay

We spent 8 days here in Aug '07. The rooms were spacious, clean and very well equipped. We had two 1 Bedroom Suites, one for my wife and myself and the other for our three children (girl 23 and two sons 21 and 18). The suites had a sofa bed in the living room and a King sized bed in the bedroom. We had a roll-away bed. The kitchen had a fridge, microwave and regular ovens, coffee maker, toaster, blender and hand mixer plus a full set of pots and pans, knives, forks, plates, etc. Our rooms were cleaned daily and flowers left. The air conditioning worked well and the balconies were screened so there were no bugs. Grace Bay beach is as good as anything I have seen in the Caribbean, Hawaii or elsewhere. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Cabana Bar was good (but not cheap) for lunch and drinks and OK for dinner. The Gecko Grill serves very good food with a nice atmosphere. We would highly recommend the Coco Bistro for both food and ambiance. The food at the Caicos Cafe was excellent but the ambiance was not as good as the Coco Bistro. I recommend going to the IGA and stocking up on breakfast items like cereal, tea/coffee, eggs, yogurt, bread etc. It's easier and cheaper to make breakfast than to go down to the restaurant. The prices are higher than the US, but better than other Caribbean islands. This is NOT a Budget destination. If you want an inexpensive vacation then go elsewhere. I highly recommend the Ocean Club.

Traveler's tip:

J&B Tours did a great all day tour including lunch on a deserted beach at Half Moon Beach (Lobster, BBQ Ribs and Chicken, French Fries, Corn etc.), all the Rum Punch and beer you could want, Fresh Conch salad (which they dive for from the boat - you can also dive to get them as the water at that spot is 20 ft. deep at the most) plus snorkelling at a number of spots.

Trying to get information about transportation and some other places on the island, ie., the Flamigo Restaurant (great local food located next door to the hotel)is difficult and not easily forthcoming. We got conflicting information (or no information)on many occasions. Other than that, the hotel was lovely and very quiet.

Traveler's tip:

Go to the local IGA. Great supermarket with "not so bad" prices. Also, go to the Tiki Hut in Turtle Cove on Wednesday evenings for the "Rib Special." Great deal with excellent service and food!

The grounds were not well kept. The grass needed to be cut; the water fountain was not functioning was an eye-sore. The most congenial folks were the lady who maintained our room, a waiter who served us a few times and one of the shuttle drivers. Customer Service is definately lacking and is consisent with the other reviews that we read prior to our trip. The Big Plus- Grace Bay Beach. This is an amazing beach, that is very clean with white-like sand.

What can I say? This hotel - which I would call Ocean Club Resorts East (since the sister hotel is called Ocean Club Resorts West), was awesome. Location is perfect on Grace Bay. Weather was great, and the people who worked at the hotel were super friendly. Extremely good hotel for the value. We used the grills for dinner each night and they worked great. AC in the rooms to cool down. Clean pools. When I go back to Provo, will stay here again.

In terms of the hotel, I would recommend it to others. The landscaping is beautiful. It is located towards the end of the beach (private home next to hotel and an existing rock structure blocks the beach, preventing the typical beach traffic). One of the more affordable "restaurants" is located on site at the Cabana Grille.

Traveler's tip:

First, do not use the Gecko Bus! Several times we called the bus to pick us up and had to wait for over 1hr after being told to wait 10 or 15 minutes by the driver. Very unreliable!!! Everything is fairly expensive on the island. Go to the IGA for snacks, water and other food items. Breakfast/lunch for two - min $30. Dinner for two - min $50. Overall, people on the island are not very friendly. Feels like you are invading their home (which I can understand). Don't let it ruin your vacation.

Terrific hotel. Very quiet and not near any of the construction that is currently happening on the island. Very friendly staff and other guests.

We visited in mid-May (off-peak season) and things were a bit sleepy. Nice beach-side bar and restaurant for light dining. Dive shop on premises can arrange snorkeling, scuba and other water sports.

Traveler's tip:

Fine dining at the Gecko Grill just a short walk from the lobby.

This was a beautiful hotel. Lucious flowers throughout the grounds. The best part of it, however was the short walk to the most breathtaking beach on the planet. Sunsets were incredible. Staff was happy to assist in any way. Good food. Good drinks. What more can anyone ask for?

Traveler's tip:

Magnolia's resturant at Turtle cove is a must. Incredible views.

this a small hotel, the kind I like, You are not sorrounded by masses of people. The gardens, grounds, pools and beach are are maintained to the highest standards. The staff was helpful and fun. The food at the resurants was excellent, but pricey, as were the drinks

Traveler's tip:

Dining on the island is expensive, go to the IGA store and stock up on deli meats and lunch stuff, the resort has 3 barbaque grills for your use

Very comfortable room with everything you need for a relaxed vacation. Screened porch overlooks gardens, full kitchen, steps to the beach. Staff is sincerely friendly and eager to please. Great fitness center and computer room. This was my second stay at Ocean Club West and will choose this place again.

Traveler's tip:

Caicos Cafe and Coco Bistro were my favorites. Yummy
