This was the first all inclusive vacation our family had taken and we would certainly do it again. If one is looking for relaxation and adventure the Moon Palace should place high on your list. Staying a minimum of ten nights was great because we actually had time to relax and also experience the history and beauty of the area.

Traveler's tip:

We brought $300 one dollar bills for tipping and wow did we get good service! Actually, we came home with about $75 dollars. Shop at the hotel gift store and forget going into town.

This hotel and the services were the bomb! We had such a good time. All the restaurants we tried were excellent, except for the brazilian which was pretty blah. The pools were beautiful. The bars close together. Loved that the staff roamed the pool and beach to take orders. Our whole family felt like royalty.

Traveler's tip:

sit down with your concierge as soon as you get there and take advantage of your free tours. we really enjoyed the zip lines and chitzen itza pyramid tours

Do yourself a favor and ignore the Swine Flu panic and head for Moon Palace. The only negatives were... 1) check in and check out is very, very slow. The front desk is poorly organized, so, people inadvertently ( and sometimes on purpose ) break into line. Once you get to the front, it is a minimum of twenty minutes to get checked in. 2)We took two tours and became annoyed at being routed to tourist traps with overpriced food, drink and souvenirs. Chichen Itza is an amazing sight, but, they will force you to visit a "mayan" market TWICE and you will spend more time there than at the ruins. 3) The beds are a little firm compared to most US hotels. Now for the good stuff. 1) The staff is INCREDIBLE. Plan on spending $20-30 a day on tips for a family of four. No one will ask you for one, but, the service is so good that you will feel cheap for not tipping. 2) The food is not memorable, but, it is good and well prepared. Some other reviewers called it "bland" and I have to agree with that evaluation. 3) The rooms, linens, etc. were clean and luxurious. 4) The grounds are meticulously maintained and security is excellent. 5)There was no pressure to view the timeshare presentation. We will absolutely, positively return to Moon Palace.

Traveler's tip:

The tour guides will lie and tell you that goods bought from "illegal" vendors will be seized by customs. Their definition of "illegal" is someone who isn't paying them a commission.

Moon palace was beautiful, clean, organized and friendly. I can't complain about any aspect. Everything was at your fingertips, it was pure leisure, this is what a vacation is really like. It has great amenities, restaurants and staff that are ready to help you.

Traveler's tip:

ask them what your vacation has included and do those excursions first, to save some money.

We came back to the Moon Palace for the second time and it was even better than the first time. We came with friends who took their first vacation and they thought it was the best experience ever. The food was real good, the pool was great and contrary to what others have said about the drinks they are strong if you ask them to make them strong. Our only complaint would be the A/C as you either were real cold or hot, their seemed to be no medium but who spends much time in the room! It was great and we will be back!

Traveler's tip:

Do the island trip for sure, its incredible. Also if you're a golfer the Moon Palace golf course is incredible! Beware of the so called 75 minute time share presentation, its actually about 2 1/2 hours minimum.

I had a blast. The Sunrise Resort was beautiful. I felt like a queen. The hotel lobby was beautiful. The hotel staff was ver polite and very helpful. We stayed at the Villas. I strongly recommend the Villas. It is very private and quiet. We had a gulf cart. This is no charge. We got around this large resort with no problem. You can go to lobby to lobby without waiting for assistance. Try to go to every restaurant. The food is wonderful. The restaurant at the Niuzic was delicious. The best beach would be a the Beach Palace. When you decide to go shopping, take a bus trip to the Beach Palace. Go the the the street to the Mall outlets. Once again this trip will make you feel like Kings and Queens.

Traveler's tip:

The Sunrise Palace offers free trips to the Water Park, Zip line, and etc. Free trips to other Palaces. Take advantage of that. Be aware of the people at the airport once you head outside for a shuttle or taxi. They want to take you to a time share. Enjoy your trip.

Moon Palace is beautiful! The hotel staff are the most polite we have ever encountered! Check in was alittle slow and waiting to schedule excursions was also slow, but everyone was extremely helpful. All areas of hotel were very clean, even common restrooms, which we felt was amazing. The resort is very large and our friends we traveled with were at opposite end of resort so it was along walk, next time we will be sure to request rooms close to each other, but it really was not a problem to us. The food was good, not excellent. The restaurants others recommended we did not find to be so wonderful, so that was a little disappointing, but did not spoil our trip. The golf course is beautiful and you will see many unusual creatures about. Very enjoyable. The spa is fabulous!! The zipline excursion is LOTS of fun! The people at the park really enjoy their job and make it fun for everyone! The beach is really nice, but could not get in ocean. Beach Palace had beautiful water and you can get in ocean, but beach itself is very small and not as nice as Moon Palace. It was nice to visit their sister hotels and take advantage of their facilities. Eat breakfast at La Gondala, we found it to be the best. Lunch is good at all. Dinner: Brazilian, not so good. Mexican, was average, salsa REALLY good. Steakhouse was really good.We are looking forward to taking a family trip possibly next summer.

Traveler's tip:

Everyone is very helpful so make sure to carry singles and fives to give tips, they REALLY do deserve it. Visit Abel at the swimup bar, he is GREAT! Try to plan ahead for the next day so you can get the most out of your vacation.

We loved the Moon Palace. Everything, even excursions was included. The beach was not as nice as the beach in Cancun, so we mainly hung out at the awesome pool. My kids had a fabulous time also. Would definitely go back!

Everything was excellent except the main desk service. If you're looking for something secluded this is the place for you. If you're looking for something in the heart of downtown nears bars and such, you'll be about a 20 minute taxi drive away.

This was our second trip to the Moon Palace. The service, room and food were great. We stayed on the Grand side where the rooms were bigger and a bit more upscale.

Traveler's tip:

If you like to snorkel, you shoud book a tour to Xel-Ha.

Ask to be taken to the Sunrise Lobby when you arrive to register if you want lots of activities and entertainment. The second lobby is the place to register for a more quiet atmosphere, with little to entertain children. Great for adults looking for a restful vacation. Transportation offered to guests at the Sunrise Lobby is better. Between the two lobbies, the choice of food and quality of food is outstanding. Many quality restaurants, besides the usual buffet and poolside food offerings. When you order drinks, you should ask for top shelf liquor or you won't get quality.

Traveler's tip:

Visit the spa. You will really feel pampered.
