All in all the hotel was great as was the service staff. BUT, the property is actually a time share resort. Since Wyndam purchased the Mayan Palace, Wyndam has been offering the unused timeshares on Expedia. When you check in, the time share sharks push you relentlessly to get you into a 90 minute tour by offering you a free breakfast (which they sit with you during and talk on and on), a 10% discount on your room charges, modest cash back, excursion discounts and tequila. The 90 minute tour is actually 5-6 hours of pressure sales (when one sales person isn\'t getting anywhere, they send in another and another) also they will offer you alcohol to loosen you up while they have you in their sales room. They hold your certificate of promised gifts hostage until you give in or say for the 500th time that your just here for the free gifts. Even then, this isn\'t the end. I went to make sure that my bill was actually 10% off, get the promised cash back and the other gift and I got shuffled around from desk to desk until I had to check out. I had no luck getting anything once state side. Advice: The hotel is nice but just say no to even going on the "90-minute" tour. It ruins 2 days of your vacation.
