Me and my wife stayed at Manchebo Resort for 3 wonderful days. The staff are very friendly, the beach is a paradise without the crowd like the high rise hotels. This is the right resort for those looking for a quiet place and a relaxed atmosphere.

Best beach in Aruba!

We had a great time at the Manchebo although our teenager was bored as there are no activities there besides that beautiful beach and the simple pool. Soft, powdery sand on a wide beach and clear blue water with gentle lapping waves with a soft, sandy bottom. Just what we were looking for. Never any trouble getting beach chairs and a shady beach hut. Our ocean view rooms on the 2nd floor were alway very clean and the staff was always nice to us. Hotel is nicely located between Oranjestad and high-rise hotel area. We rented a car through Hertz right at the airport and made good use of the car although my husband was dying for a Jeep to explore the island trails everywhere. Loved the open air restaurants everywhere and didn't find the prices too out of line. Never needed reservations. Aruba has a constant breeze which keeps the heat off and bugs away. Great filet mignon at Tulip near Manchebo, delicious ribs at Iguana Joe's in Oranjestad, yummy pasta and pizza at Casa Tua in high rise section. Our car was broken into near San Nicholas and then many locals told us this happens a lot there so skip that part of town. The Manchebo guestrooms are not as trendy and modern as the high rise hotels but it is clean and tidy and it has the best beach by far and is the best place to relax and unwind. Great for couples. If you want a peaceful and pleasant vacation in a clean hotel with a beautiful beach and gorgeous Caribbean waters, the Manchebo is the place to go.

Traveler's tip:

U.S. dollars are taken everywhere. If a price is in florins, simply divide in half and add 10 percent to get U.S. equivalent. Good tasting and safe to drink water in Aruba. Spend the extra money and rent a car or Jeep so you can go when and where you want. Bring lots and lots of sunscreen as it costs a fortune in gift shops and you will use more than you think since you will be in and out of the water so much.

We had a great time at the Manchebo. The staff were all very friendly and the room was always clean. The beach there is beautiful. not much to do there but that made it perfect for us. Great for a relaxing adult vacation but kids would probably be board there. the room had everything we needed, Safe, fridge microwave coffee maker. We hit up ling and sons for groceries, stocked up on alcohol snacks and breakfast food. their restaurants and bar were great but food everywhere in Aruba was expensive. The beach service was great. never had a problem getting a nice place to lay out and they gave you a flag to stick in the sand if you needed service. the building itself is old but the furnishings were all modern and you cant beat the location.

Traveler's tip:

I read a lot of arguments for and against renting a car. We ended up getting one and I was glad we did. it freed us up to go wherever when wanted. we traveled all over even in Arikok park in a little Hyundai Accent so a Jeep is not really necessary.

We stayed at the Manchebo Beach Resort in late June and enjoyed the spacious beach. We really liked the atmosphere, which for the rooms is more motel than luxury hotel, but the bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed having a refrigerator in the room to store drinks and snacks. Our only complaint is that the plumbing needs some work ( a lot of noise when your neighbor decides to take a shower early in the morning). But having a nice terrace (first floor beach view) and watching the iguana's while we had our morning coffee was great.

Traveler's tip:

We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant, which has a nice setting, but the food was substandard. The Deli-France a short drive away or some supermarket items stored in the refrigerator where a much better option.

Loved the walks on the beach. Don't need all inclusive. Walked to towns both ways. Only 30-45min. Lots of restaurants. Try Turtle Cove! Very friendly and excellect prices.

We were very happy with the hotel. We did not want to stay in the busy high-rise hotel area, and this was a perfect choice, although we spent a lot of time driving to the high-rise area for dining and casinos. Very clean and all hotel employees were extremely and helpful. It was a bit older hotel, not extremely luxurious, but we were fine with that. Would definately revisit.

Manchebo Beach Resort and Spa's staff make you feel special as soon as you arrive. Our clean, nice hotel room had a view of the ocean with palapas, and iguanas on our patio. We were just a few yards away from one of the best beaches on the island with sugarly beautiful sand and the warm inviting waters--heaven! Great food in the Italian and French restraurant. We did Subway for lunches and picked up some groceries for our room which had a frig. Wonderful relaxing trip. Will go back and recommend!! San Diego Native Parrotheads :)

Traveler's tip:

It's fun to rent a car and see the island on your own. Lots of great places to eat, shop and swim.

Nothing fancy, but perfect if all you want is sun, sand&sea. Sincere and helpful staff. 3 restaurants on premises. Very peaceful, which I love.

Traveler's tip:

If you rent a car, get an economy: Only gas is premium and much pricey than US (sold by liter, $4+/gallon, self service pumps) Dining could be expensive, but many decent restaurants offer early bird for less. Phone is a problem. US cell phones work on local GSM carrier, but hefty roaming fees apply. Avoid the 'world phones' you'll see around; it'll be the most expensive call you'll ever make. Check local public holidays, all stores close. And: Treat the housekeepers, and they'll treat you back.

We have stayed at Manchebo many times, we like that we can walk right out onto the beach and it's a small hotel - 71 rooms. You don't have to get in line for a shade hut. Giorgio's and French's Steakhouse are wonderful restaurants at Manchebo. The desk staff, everyone, is very willing to help with any request you have.

In the last few years we have noticed that there are alot more affordable restaurants, Smokey Joe's, Salt & Pepper and Pizza Bob's.

This was a dream vacation. The beach is fantastic and uncrowded and there were always palapas available. The food at all the restaurants is excellent and so is the service. The rooms are a bit dated but the cleanliness makes up for it. Everybody is extremely friendly. Loved the iguanas and watching the pelicans diving for fish.

Traveler's tip:

We rented a jeep and toured the whole island. The beach by the California lighthouse was amazing. Take the backroads and go to the natural bridge. You won't be disappointed.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was quiet and right on the beach which seemed to be the best beach! The garden room was perfect since we could walk right out to the beach and the sitting area seemed larger than the balcony rooms upstairs. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean although a bit outdated furniture. Bed, though was quite comfortable. It was nice to be in the low rise hotel area rather than the high rise hotel area which was more congested. We would go back there again if we visit Aruba.

the hotel was well kept and the rooms were spotless. The beach is beautiful and lots of room. The hotel is a quiet place, just right for relaxing. i would highy recommend. the bus stop was close and the buses run every 20 minutes. so if you didn't have a vehicle, it would be very easy to get around

Traveler's tip:

shopping at the flea market for souviners on the weekends is the way to go. there are several supermarkets near the hotel. just hop on the bus and tell the driver to stop at supermarkets.

Manchebo is what you need if you're looking for a laid back and quiet atmosphere. Guests on the beach are spread out so you don't have that crowded feeling as you would on a high-rise hotel beach. Rooms are simple but clean, the staff is very friendly and the water is extraordinary!!! The grounds could use some more attention. I would suggest getting a dine-around plan as opposed to AI unless you want unlimited drinks.

Traveler's tip:

If you do not get All Inclusive the food at Manchebo can be costly for such small portions. The AGA dine-around plan lets you dine from a list of various restaurants on the Island.
