I would recommend the Golden Crown resort to anyone looking for an all-inclusive resort. I felt extremely safe, the resort was very clean and well taken care of and the service was great. Food: The food was kind of hit or miss, but good overall. I was not impressed by the buffet in the neighboring family resort, but would highly recommend the Paradise Restaurant upstairs for both dinner and breakfast. Room: Our room was great and we had a wonderful pool and ocean view. I did, however, come home with a bacterial infection on my foot which I probably got from the shower (no way to tell 100%) so I would suggest making sure your shower was cleaned or wear flip flops in the shower. Service: Is beyond excellent! Everyone at the resort makes it their mission to make sure you are happy and everyone is very friendly and helpful. Location: Golden Crown is located across the street from the port/marina which is very convenient since many of the excursions leave from the marina so we were able to walk 2 minutes and not worry about having to take a taxi. If I go back to Puerto Vallarta again I will definitely consider staying at the Golden Crown again.

Definitely eat at the Paradise Restaurant and ask for the "Sexy Coffee" from Palo after your meal. You will not be disappointed.

We stayed for seven nights and it was a very nice experience. The room was clean and comfortable and made up daily at an early hour after we went to breakfast and long before the afternoon. The service was good overall and it was nice to have the all-inclusive experience. The drinks were not watered down and top shelf liquors were there for the asking. We had one of the best meals ever at Salvadors Restaurant. The service was wonderful. Make sure you ask for a "sexy coffee" after your meal...it's a cup of coffee and side show all in one! The hotel does have an information booth that is helpful but they also want to sell you a timeshare...just say NO if you are not interested! ;-) Make sure you do NOT buy your tours online at "Discover Vallarta." They offer NO service and left us stranded on one tour because they did not pay the tour vendor and on another tour they sent us to the wrong place to be picked up. Buy them at the hotel tour desk instead. Next door is the Crown Paradise which you can also use thier facilities. They are a family hotel and the restaurants there gave us different choices. Once again, the service at the restaurants and bars was EXCELLENT!!! The pool was great...food and drinks available at all times. The beach does have agressive vendors but once again, just say NO if you are not interested. I would reccomend this hotel highly, especially for 1st timers. Thank you Golden Crown Paradise!

Golden Crown was the perfect place for us to go on this trip! We couldn't have asked for a better place with better people. Both the staff and other guests really made the trip great. My wife and I are in our mid 20's and were pleasantly surprised with the number of people close to our age. There were plenty of optional activities going on but they didn't bother me if I didn't participate & wanted to be lazy. The perfect vacation!

We went on the LaVista zip line/ATV tour & absolutely loved it! Again the people made the trip great!

NOT REAL SATISFIED Liked the location of the hotel. Could watch the ocean liners come into port. Beach was very nice. Food at the buffet was good. Liked the LaPiazza Restaurant. Ate there twice. Had problems with the air conditioning. Was changed to another room. Air conditioner was not as it should be, but we accepted it. Didn't like the looks of the towels and washcloths. They were a dirty gray. Didn't like using them. Staff was very friendly. However, I'm not sure if I would stay there again.

We like to travel in the fall. Rates are cheaper and less crowds.

We've been to Puerta Vallarta 8 times with twice being at this resort; we love it. The Service is great, we had an ocean view room,we loved it. The "Breeze" Bar was about 20ft from our elevator, it was great. Sept. is the rainy season so it tends to be slower not to mention the"swine flu" scare; it meant we got better one on one service. Forget the swine flu, forget the rain, grab your insulated cups and your singles and head to this resort-you will not regret it. Close to the Marina, close to the Malacon, downtown shopping. Walmart and Sams club right across the street. This resort is worth the trip to Mexico. They have made lots of changes to the airport; they don't attack you anymore! That in itself was a breath of fresh air!! They are finally improving on what the "Traveler-Tourist" wants! We will be back next year!

Traveler's tip:

NEVER pay full price for anything! Bargin!

over all it was a good time. we met plenty of couples that were visiting back for a couple of times and they said its the same people that worked their and i was happy to here that because the hospatality was one of the best, they make you feel at home so that you forget about home the only one thing beware of beach vendors not to scare you their harmles!

Traveler's tip:

tours we went on was the rhythm of the night, a must for couples. short boat trip to las caletas you watch a live mayan show and nice romantic candle light dinner next to the beach

Overall this was a great place to stay. 99% of the staff was friendly and always willing to help if they could. The only thing I didn't like was the people trying to get you to attend a "breakfast" to try and sell you a timeshare. Those people were annoying. Everyone else was terrific.

Traveler's tip:

Always barter with the salespeople. Never pay for more than half of what they are trying to sell it for.

The hotel was nice- nicely decorated. The bedding was in okay condition - a little out dated and the bed was so hard and the pillows were awful! The only way we got to sleep was because of the all inclusive package which included alcoholic drinks! The bar across the street is fun for a short time - skip the kid shows though!

Traveler's tip:

Glam was awesome! We ladies had free drinks until 1 am and were able to get some for the guys too - we had a huge group of 12 so freebies were a wonderful thing! We had a table on the dance floor - it was awesome as was the service!

Hotel was in a nice location, close (walking distance) to marina for excursions. Staff friendly enough, but had a grumpy towel guy at the towel checkout. Surprised any resort would have someone like that working for them. Entertainment was always put on by the sister hotel which was a family resort, so either geared toward the kids or featured the kids. Don't have anything against children (we have our own) but didn't bring them, planning a quiet adult/couples trip so the quit attending the eve entertainment. Drinks were OK, selection not as good as other resorts I've been to, bartender warned me my mojito order would be made with cream de menthe, so that was a cancel. Most bars (there were several) had only 'Sol' beer. Pool bar staff/waitresses were very attentive. Food was often very good (French and Italian restaurants especially) Need reservations.

Traveler's tip:

Go on the rhythms of the night tour. Go see Tonya at a fishing excursion shop in downtown Puerto Vallarta called 'Master Baiters' and she'll give you a good cash deal on tickets for 'Rythms'

We went for our honeymoon, so wanted an adults only, all-inclusive and this was perfect! Because you could eat both at this property and the sister property, we only ate at the same place twice while we were there. Some of the food (buffet and cafe) were just okay, but a few of the other places were very good - Gallos Mexican Restaurant has wonderful food and Salvador's was excellent! The Italian restaurant at the sister property was pretty good, also. In all fairness - we went at the perfect time because everyone else was freaking out about the swine flu and canceling, so the hotel was only at about 40% capacity when we were there. We didn't have to fight for a beach chair or wait for a cocktail. Make sure to have some pesos on you to tip the waiter/waitresses and bartenders and they will be your best friends for your entire stay. We found the staff to be very accommodating, room service was quick and good, the maid service was great. Every room has a balcony overlooking the pool and/or ocean. Would definitely stay again!

Traveler's tip:

The hotel puts two bottles of water in your room each day, but that is not quite enough and water is not readily available everywhere you go. There is a large supermarket a block away from this hotel called Soriana. Best bet is to make a trip to the grocery store and buy mass amounts of water to keep in your room. There is no refridgerator or way to keep it cold (an entire bucket of ice melts within hours) but even at room temperature, it's better to have it.

This hotel has a GREAT BEACH but we didnt get very good service from the bartenders in the adult section which was dissapointing to us. They also didnt have a swim up bar in the adult section which seemed off to me. The bartenders in the family section were fun and exciting so we hung out over there a few times and there was a swim up bar over in the family section as well but it was VERY small. We will probably not go back. I think we can find better service at another hotel.

Traveler's tip:

Dont count on the "disco" included to entertain your evenings. It was not truely a bar and once the kids were out they wanted to start charging for drinks....
