Avoid those timeshares

We had a great time. Place was beautiful! My only issue is that we were constantly pestered to visit a timeshare presentation. One of their representatives even tried convincing us to not go on a cruise we had ALREADY paid for so that we could see her preentation and go on their free cruise instead.

Make sure everyone in your party is on the same page and is warned to stay away from people trying to trick you into timeshares.

I loved the activities and the hotel crew that was in charge of it. It is a great hotel but the beach is not good to swim. In general the service is great, the view also.

Traveler's tip:

If you decide to go to Cabo you have try the "Apostolis Restaurante" Mediterranean Seafood place in San Jose del Cabo.

It's a great hotel but the beach is not good to swim is just to see them because of the rockies. Also i don't like that you're almost force to asist to the breakfast where they sell the sharing time because they call you everyday all day and it's not really nice. But in general the service is great, the view also.

Traveler's tip:

Go snorkeling is just amazing!!

We felt like royalty our entire stay. The staff was very friendly, responsive, and extremely good at what they do. The food was amazing. A little on the high side for overall cost, but we would go back just for the personal touch that made our stay perfect! The concierge desk was very helpful in finding our way around. If you want to swim on the beach - this is not the place for you, though. Great for wading and lying out enjoying the scenery.

There is no need to go anywhere, just relax. They bring your food wherever you want and as our 7 years old said: It is all for free (you JUST give room number). Morning buffet is good, Peninsula is ok, I only do not recommend fancy restaurant (even the view is nice). The stuff was very nice and polite. If you are in mood for snorkeling, hotel has the equipment that you can rent and there are so many fishes and reefs to explore in front of you (if you did not do that before take the class in the swimming pool). The only problem we had was with some unpleasant guests over chairs around swimming pool. The women assaulted me in front of kids and even threatened to punch me. I wanted somebody to apologize, the restaurant manger did and we moved on with our vacation. Did not go to swimming pool after that, but who needs the pool with such a beautiful beach.

Traveler's tip:

Cabo looks worst then 2 years ago, you can feel recession. Mi Casa and Panchos are great places to eat in the city. If you are tired of Mexican food, there is nice Italian restaurant next to Panchos. Rent the car, you have more freedom that way. We had good experience with Hertz.

The rooms and grounds were great! The restaurants stunk! don't eat at any of the restaurants, something is very, very wrong with what is on the menu and the quality. Don't do the complementary breakfast, it is a scam to hook you into a 2+ hour time share pitch! Not worth it!

Traveler's tip:

Cabo Wabo!!!

The hotel is fabulous and extremely clean and well kept! The staff is amazing---have never had more pleasant and accomodating staff. Great restaurants too. The location does pose a problem. A cab is $20 one way to Cabo (up to 4 people) the van is $10 a person round trip. Public transportation is quite a walk including a 4 lane highway.

Traveler's tip:

The coffee in the room is about $4 and it really isn't indicated anywhere. In addition check your bill we found a $20 contribution had been added for a local charity that we had never heard of and hadn't authorized

The Fiesta Americana was ok. The staff were all very nice, but were not as accomodating as we expected. The bathroom of our room had mold in it. I will say, I know of many other people who love this place. I think we just had bad luck.

My wife and I stayed in the Grand Club area and we will definitely return to Fiesta Americana. Our suite was fantastic. Access to the Grand Club lounge was super for breakfast, soft drinks throughout the day and happy hour. The service at the Club and pools was great and friendly. Don't miss a candle-lit dinner outside over looking the beach at the Peninsula restaurant. Food is okay, but the ambience is great.

Traveler's tip:

Check out the catamaran trips out of Cabo San Lucas. Most include drinks and/lunch and are very reasonably priced at @ $40/person.

After reading the reviews on this hotel...I knew exactly what I was getting into. And I was not disappointed at all! This hotel was absoultuly beautiful. The grounds were clean and gorgeous with flowers and plants. The beach had plenty of available chairs and shade for relaxing. The view was outstanding. We enjoyed watching the whales. The minute we checked in we saw a mother whale and her baby in the ocean. We spent most of our time at the hotel. Our kids are 10 and 7 and swam all day long. The service was excellent. All of the servers remembered the kids and made a point to make them feel special everyday. Take advantage of the invitation to listen to the hotel/vacation membership program. Even if you are not going to purchase a membership, the deals they provide for listening are excellent. We were able to swim with the dolphins at a HUGE discount. The rooms were great. The maids cleaned up everyday and we had turn down service. The food was good. The morning breakfast buffet had everything you'd want...fruit, homemade omletets, and even blood mary's and mamosas. The only complaint of the entire vacation was they made you pay for your coffee in your room. We love our coffee in the morning, and it seems odd to have to pay for it. We were told it was a "cultural" thing. All and all, the hotel was "our happy place" for 5 days. We will definetly be back soon!

The Hotel enjoys a very nice position on the Sea of Cortez side. The restaurant sevice was good, nice sunsets. The pool service was slow, had to go to get my own drinks after having been lying in the sun for 2 hours! Lobby bar also is very slow service. A person could dehydrate... Rooms are comfortable, nice Hotel.

Traveler's tip:

Definitely recommend Edith's for dinner a splurge but worth it, also The Office is fun for drinks and snacks, the food is very good at dinnertime too, if you want a casual on the Beach, feet in the sand option.

A beautiful property, well maintained. Nice layout with ocean views. Restaurants with very good food and service with a hefty pricetag. Beach is beautiful, but not condusive to swimming due to rocks and variable surf conditions. Early March with lots of whales sighted from property. Would gladly visit again.

Traveler's tip:

Whale watching trips from nearby Los Cobos. Whales generally gone after middle of March.

We are in our fifties and this was our first trip to Mexico. The Fiesta Americana did a superb job of offering assistance when asked, but staying out of the way when not needed. The facilities were great, the Peninsula restaurant was very good, and we had a very enjoyable week. We rented a car which was very helpful to get back and forth to San Lucas or San Jose...which you will want to do. The views are beautiful and the breezes are perfect. If you want a quiet place with only a few kids and impeccable service. try the Fiesta Amer Los Cabos.
