The hotel is very nice, modern and luxurious. The pictures online accurately depict the resort. The service was great, and the food was pretty good, particularly at El Patio (Mexican restaurant). The pool was very cold but the beach made up for it. I would definitely recommend this place. We had a great time.

Dreams was false advertising. We arrived and the place was beautiful, modern, and everyone was friendly. The beaches were very clean and the weather was beautiful. However, we quickly found to our disappointment that the food was in many cases inedible. Of the six restaurants they have, only 2-3 are ever open at once and only in scheduled blocks of time. There was nowhere to go for a quick snack anytime you wanted. The service in the restaurants was also poor. There were always mistakes to our order and it took three times of asking and 20 minutes of waiting for water when we first sat down. What was so upsetting was that it wasn't a one time occurance, but happened repeatedly during our entire stay. We can get more authentic mexican food at home then we were provided with at Dreams. What is worse is that upon bringing our concerns to the concierage desk they did nothing about it. The concierage told us she would get back to us after she spoke with her boss and she never did. I would absolutely not recommend this hotel to others unless they want to return home a few pounds lighter and incredibly hungry.

I'm very pleased with my stay at Dreams Villamagna Nuevo Vallarta. I enjoyed food, it was delicious and tried different kinds... Service was excellent. Room was very comfort and has an excellent ocean view. It was a deluxe room.

Dreams Villamagna has potential - if they bring food quality/consistency into line with the lovely setting provided. Breakfast: buffet - nothing special. Lunch: most of the time there wasn't a choice - save the aforementioned room service - and again, for a 4 star + resort, nothing to write home about. Dinner: the biggest food disappointment. We had high expectations, but Dreams Villamagna was not only inconsistent in quality, they sometimes seemed to lack some very basic culinary knowledge (e.g. served mussels with cracked shells, another time without cleaning them - including beards). On several occasions, the seafood was badly seasoned, or overcooked. Other times, the food simply lacked flavor. The Preferred amenities were another story: you pay a premium for a balcony jacuzzi (tiny); upgraded minibar (couldn't tell) and access to Preferred Lounge. Again, our perspective was based on a previous Dreams experience - including a bartender who made premium cocktails, upon request. However, Dreams Villamagna's lounge had but several, self-serve bottles of premium liquor - often without glasses, mix and ice. So, if you'd like a Grey Goose martini - you're out of luck. A Herradura Reposado margarita? Too bad. A glass of red wine? Sorry. Not worth the premium. Believe it or not, I spoke to the Resort manager to express my disappointment - which he assured me of address - but we never heard from him again. Well, he need not worry - since we won't be back.

The Dreams hotel was an excellent setting for a wedding and a mini vacation. The service everyone provided was above and beyond our expectations. The staff couldn't do enough for you; they were so attentive to your every need and gracious.

this hotel was beautiful!!!! it was the most relaxing vacation and staff that was extremely friendly! There was so much to do or you could just sit by the beach. We were there for a week and saw three weddings take place. So it is obviously a place to have a wedding with a beautiful sunset every night. The food was great and the atmosphere was enjoyable with poolside dinners and entertainment every night. The rooms were also beautiful and cleaned every day.

The staff was great - very courteous and professional. We didn't have to worry about anything as soon as we arrived. The Thanksgiving buffet was very good.

We typically stay at small to medium high end resorts with personalized service and alacarte meals, but decided to try an all-inclusive for a change. I agree with some of the previous guests - food was NOT great, particularly for lunch (Seaside Grill). Food often came out cold, low quality, and the waiters did not return often or would forget things you ordered. Dinners were better, but forgettable. That said, waiters were very polite, facilities were clean, and the rest of our experience at the hotel met or exceeded expecations (for a big hotel).
Walk strait past all of the time share vultures and get a Taxi outside the airport for $20.

No swim-up bars, security guards nagging constantly not to take drinks in the pool. That's a deal-breaker when we're trying to relax! Ala Carte Restaurants are average at best, and the buffet is poor.
We travel quite frequently to Mexico destinations, and are getting tired of the "Bait-and-Switch" culture at Mexican resorts. MAKE SURE YOU PRINT OUT THE OFFERS YOU ARE BOOKING AT THE TIME OF THE BOOKING. THE VOUCHERS/ITINERARIES YOU PRINT MONTHS LATER CURIOUSLY SEEM TO OMIT SOME OF THE PERKS THAT WERE OFFERED TO ENTICE YOU TO "PULL THE TRIGGER". This has happened to us time and again, and we are wise to it now.

This motel is small and very quiet if that is what you are looking for. The food was average at best. They advertise six restraunt but two plus the buffet were open in the evening. Only the buffet for breakfast and the food was almost always empty. Service at the restraunts in the evening seemed very disorganized and you usually had to wait. Rooms were very clean. No swim up bar and you could not even stand in the water with a drink. Would probably not go back to this resort.

Lovely place, but too far from town. The best meals were breakfasts. The other meals were not inspired--with the exception of excellent seviche. Staff is very friendly. The concierge is a treasure. Reviews I read before leaving home were helpful. Tipping is important. You will receive good enough service without tipping, but please tip. We left home with about $75.00 in dollar bills and used them to tip waiters and maids. We tipped maids daily and the waiters at each and every meal. And each drink by the pool. We took the bus to town once and it requires a change midway. Other times we took taxis. It is a 40 minute bus trip, and 30 minute (approx) taxi ride.
Sea turtles were laying their eggs on the beach when we were there!

I absolutely had a great time on my honeymoon at this resort. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The only complaint i have is that housekeeping & room service was inconsistent. Most of the time we were not given wash clothes. I did not receive the petite fours at turndown that my preferred status was suppose to include. I got them 1 night when i specifically called and requested them, but the other 6 nights nothing. The food ordered from room service was almost never correct and i had to ask for the extras included in my honeymoon package. Other than that the resort was very impressive. The daily activities were fun and the night shows were awesome. I would not recommend the sushi sky bar. Service up there was poor in comparison to the rest of the restaurants. They did not have wasabi or a menu one night. the other night i gave it a go they had a menu, but what i wanted off the menu they said they could not make. The staff definitely made the trip!!

Everything was awesome except for the food and don't go here if you're vegetarian (everything has meat in it); we didn't eat a vegetarian diet there we just noticed it would be hard. My wife and I went on our honeymoon here and overall we had a really great trip. Our room was really nice and it was cleaned at least once or twice a day; the staff was really friendly and they gave us the honeymoon package for free. The pools were really nice and the drink service at the pools and the beach was good. The drinks were a little inconsistent from day to day, but they were always tasty and cold. Our favorite thing to do was hang out on the beach all day. Our least favorite thing was getting ourselves ready to go eat and I was never a picky eater until I went to villamagna. Sometimes at our meals we would be surprised and the food didn't taste bad, but we never thought the food ever tasted good. The italian restaurant had the most edible meals, and the mexican restaurant was closed five out of the six nights we were there. overall the food was really inconsistent. Room service food was gross and cold (don't order the tuna roll; its tuna, straight out of the can wrapped in warm lettuce and no sauce). The hotel was great but the food just sucked so bad that when my wife and I talk about our honeymoon we say "it was so fun but the food was awful". We never got sick from eating there, but we ended up eating like birds and that's not acceptable when you pay for an all-inclusive.
Traveler's tip:
I would advise to take lots of books, tipping money for the staff (cause they do a great job), and go in to town and eat. Our best meal was definitely when we went into town. We took the bus into town and it was roughly $4 for the two of us, it was a long, hot and bumpy ride but it was fun. Take a cab from the airport to the hotel and try and get one for $15 and don't pay more than $20. And walk past the time share people when you leave customs even if they're screaming in your face.

The hotel was very nice, but lacking in a few areas. Since this is low season, the choices for dining in the evening were limited with usually only 2 of the 5 restaraunts open, one of which was outdoors and extremely hot. After finally getting in to a place to eat, the food left a lot to be desired. The maid service was also kind of hit and miss. We had to call the front desk nearly everyday just to get wash cloths. Having stayed at a Dreams resort before, this one did not live up to our expectations. Also,do not think that the resort credit you are given is a great deal because the services you can use it on at the resort are so expensive that the credit barely makes a dent in the cost. The hotel is still pretty new and I think that some of the kinks in their service are part of a learning curve. I will say that we still did have a great time, but I wouldn't stay there again.
The bathroom set up in the rooms is more for couples than families.

The hotel itself was great. All the staff was polite and helpful and we had a great room with a great ocean view. If I were rating the hotel by itself, I would give it 4+ stars but since this is an all inclusive resort, you have to consider the food and alcohol service as well. The resort has 5 restaurants. However, there are only usually 2 open at any given time and 1 never opened during our entire trip. Portofino is their fine dining Italian restaurant and the food and service their was excellent. Unfortunately, this restaurant was only open once while we were there. The other restaurants were ok. The food wasn't bad but if I were paying for food, I would have gone somewhere else. Alcohol is also provided as part of the all inclusive package. There was free beer, water and soda in the room mini bar which was nice. The restaurants and bars claim to carry premium alcohols but they do not. I ordered Jack Daniels and Coke and watched the bartender poor alcohol out of a Jack Daniels bottle but one sip told me that whatever was in that bottle wasn't Jack Daniels. It actually tasted like a really bad Scotch Whiskey. After that, I ended up drinking beer the rest of the trip. At least they can't alter the beer.

Dreams was amazing!! The rooms were exactly as pictured with jacuzzi on balcony and open bathroom concept. Not much privacy for a family but just fine for a couple. The staff was the hightlight of the resort. My new fiancee proposed the first night of our vacation and the staff went above and beyond to make the proposal extra special. The following day was my fiancee's birthday and without me even asking, they brought him a birthday cake at the end of our dinner. If you want to receive great service, TIP the people that are helping you. Just because the place is an all-inclusive, doesn't mean that you don't have to tip. You get what you pay for, especially with service. We recieved exceptional service. Before our server at the pool went on break, he brought us a bucket of beer on ice to last until he got back. Yes, it is hot and the humidity is even worse than Mississippi, which I never imagained to be possible. The food was mediocre. The buffet was decent for breakfast but terrible during lunch. Oceana was good, but Patio was very disappointing. The nice suprise was the sushi bar on the roof. Not a large selection but everything tasted good and the atomosphere was wonderful. The Outdoor Adventures zip line tour was the most fun we have ever had, do it! It was worth every penny and the guides were awesome. Check out the Vallarta Adventures website for deals before you go, we bought two tours and got our third free.
Traveler's tip:
We never paid more than $16 for a cab to downtown Puerto Vallarta, even though most people including the bellman said a cab was about $25-35. Negotiate with the cab drivers and tell them what you are willing to pay, especially when leaving downtown. If you want to use the spa, book early they fill up appointments fast.

We just returned from Dreams with a group of 11 people and had a great time. Yes I will agree it was hot and some of the restaurants could use a little more a/c but we still found the food and staff to be wonderful. Everyone is so nice and tries so hard to make sure you have a great time. My family and I would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you Dreams for making our family vacation memorable!
Traveler's tip:
People please tip the staff! You dont have to empty your bank account but a couple of dollars will buy you extra special service.

We stayed for nine nights and had a great time. We were looking to just relax and hang out at the resort and it met our expectations. There was a good variety of food and the majority of it was very good. We definately enjoyed the late night sushi. Service was great and everyone is very helpful.
Traveler's tip:
There is a nice plaza with some shopping and a market in Nvo Vallarta which is a 20 minute walk or very quick bus ride where you can find things much cheaper than the convenient store at Dreams.
