We loved our stay at the Divi. Our studio was certainly big enough for my wife and I. The Beach was just a few steps away and we were pleasantly surprised to find a small pool just next to our buiding that was almost unused.

The Divi Village has like apartments, with kitchen so you can spare money in food. The restaurants and the pool in the Golf area (the Links) are much better than in the hotel. The elevator is very old, but the rooms are in good condition. Is very near to the beach, and the beach is not crowdy like in other areas of Aruba. The experiencia is not awesome, but for the price we were happy there.

Traveler's tip:

Take a taxi to Paseo Herencia area, there are a lot of good restaurants.

My family and I stayed at the beach buildings so we would be near the beach, but found out that they were not all that we bargained for. Our room was old and in disrepair, closet knobs falling off, doors breaking, and it smelled really bad in the room. We chose this place for the kitchen and my husband couldn't eat in the room because of the smell. There rooms by the golf course are new and by a large pool that seamed alot nicer. Other than the room, the beach is beautiful, pools are nice, staff was friendly and the restaraunts on-site are fair.

Don't take a cab to the supermarket. You can take the hotel shuttle to the end of the property and you are across the street from the market.

Impressed with the new pool & restaurants

I Booked a 5 night stay in a Golf Villa at the Divi in July. It's been about 5 years since we were there & I was so pleased with the Golf Villas & gorgeous pool they built. The pool has a slide and a swim up bar & was very clean. A short walk across the street brought us to beautiful Druif Beach in front of the smaller Divi. Beach was clean & still had lots of sand. Large waves while we were there. We ate at the 2 new restaurants at the Divi Village & were pleased with both Mulligans & Windows - more expensive but delicious! Bought groceries & booze at the nearby grocery store. Made breakfast in the Villa every morning. Only problem was no HOT water for 2 days. Since the warm water was the same as the outside temperature (about 85 degrees) I had no problem taking showers but my husband was not pleased.

Traveler's tip:

There are 2 grocery stores within walking distance from the Divi Village. You can save a lot of money buying liquor there instead of individual drinks at the bars. We took a taxi back once we were loaded down with groceries & booze. Brought cold beer to the beach in small soft sided cooler with ice.

The hotel was beautiful. It was nicer than what i expected.Since its a Golf Resort, the grounds are very extensive and well maintained. There are a few pools to choose from. But the beach is a fews steps across the street. The beach isnt crowded like in the high rise hotel area. The beach is beautiful. Mulligans is on site, must go to. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Traveler's tip:

Dont waste your money on all inclusive. You will be stuck eating food thats not good. There are so many other great places to eat up and down the strip. The taxis rides here and there will get expensive - rent a car, it was cheap. You can easily go to the supermarket 10min away and purchase breakfast items and snacks and whip something up in the kitchen in your room to save some money.

Divi Golf is actually a timeshare thet can also be bought as a hotel. We took the one bedroom studio and were placed next to a smaller swimming pool that was not as crowded as the main one, with view to the golf course. Havig 2 small children, this was ideal, since we were very close to our room and could go easily back and forth for things. Staff was very friendly. The kitchens are very well equipped and there is even a BBQ grill by the pool. Rooms were very confortable and clean.

The hotel was simple and clean. Could have used more tropical, colorful flowers and landscaping. Some of the service people were not very friendly at times especially in the restraunts. But the weather, beaches and safety were a 10!

Traveler's tip:

The island jeep trip was a blast!

I must say the room we were given couldnt have been any better! We were two rooms from the pool and literally steps from the beach. At night, it was a little noisy because of how close we were to the pool bar but we loved the excitement as opposed to silence. We walked past several other hotels with rooms right on the beach and they werent nearly as nice as the ones at the Divi Links. As close as we were to the pool and beach, our room was very private and cozy. It was like staying in our own little condo. If I were to return to the Divi Links, I will most definately request this same room!

Traveler's tip:

My boyfriend and I were excited about trying the restaurants in Aruba because there is a wide variety of cuisine to choose from. We were glad we made the choice not to go all-inclusive because the restaurants that you are limited to are not that great. We ate at two of the three restaurants at our hotel and they were extremely disappointing. If you enjoy food and are looking for more than an average dining experience, venture out of the resort area.

Better places to stay in Aruba

Upon arrival, the check in was rushed however we had to come back to pick up the keys as room not ready. When we did come back, they said "here you go" and walked away. We had to track down a map to find our room as resort is huge and lug our luggage. The older side where we stayed, even though requested newer side is old, run down and musty. Lightbulbs burnt out in room. Handle broken on sink. Handle broken off on a drawer. A smoke detector was sitting on the bedroom dresser and not in the ceiling! Ceiling fan did not work in bedroom. Called to get that fixed which was done promptly. Privacy sign missign for housekeeping. Every morning, maids knocking on door at 7am! Finally got a privacy sign and then it was stolen!! The new side is gorgeous and the pool is beautiful. Service at hotel terrible. Stay on newer side or not at all. Unfortunatley Very dissatisfied! However, been coming to Aruba for 6 years. Love Aruba. From now on I will stay elsewhere.

Traveler's tip:

Take the bus rather than taxi's. Experience Aruba. Go to El Gaucho's for dinner. Wonderful Steakhouse. Also try Madame Janette's. Fabulous. The people are so nice in Aruba. Weather perfect and great beaches. Tons of places to walk to near the high rise hotels. Enjoy

Our staying Divi Village was much much better than I expected. At a arrival on the front desk, we could receive upgrade room from "run of the house " which was Studio type room to 1 bed room on the top floor in the original area building. Divi Village has original building facing beach and new building facing golf course. Our room was not a new side of the building but facing beautiful ocean,so we enjoy the view from our large balcony on both floor, ( living room was 5th floor and master bed room was 6 floor, and both has balcony with table and chair!) Divi Village was located not high rise hotel area so the beach was not busy , just calm and beautiful, we really loved it!! And located in between Oranjestad (downtown) and Palm Beach (High rise hotel area), so it's convenient to eat and shopping using public bus. Divi was great!

My stay at the Divi Village in March was amazing! Upon arrival the staff is was very attentive and eager to help you with anything you need, they even called and dealt with our car rental company for us! The carts are always there when walking around the resort to offer you a ride to your destination (the front desk, one of the pools, etc) and 24hr security walking the resort makes you feel very safe. The rooms are BIG and comfortable, the villa style of the rooms makes you feel like you have your own condo and not crammed in a high rise with 100 our guests. The pools within the resort are very clean and relaxing....but if you'd rather go to the beach its RIGHT across the street!!! Also def check out the Windows restaurant for dinner and Mulligans for breakfast/lunch. Great experience all around, I will definitely come back and not even try another hotel for my next stay.

This was my 3rd visit to Divi Village. Always stayed in a studio. Spacious room, fully equipped kitchen, nice balcony, ocean view. Best beach on Aruba - plenty of space, lots of huts, not many people. One can use facilities of two other Divi properties across the street (including the shuttle that goes as far as the Alhambra casino) at no charge. I liked the fitness center at Tamarjin a lot. Luckily, Divi Village is not all inclusive. Aruba has too many good restaurants to waste time in all inclusive resorts.

The first room we were put in smelled like mould and mildew. We asked for another room and that one was fine. Haven't been in a hotel room in years that didn't have a hair dryer, wasn't too happy about that. There are dispensers in the shower for shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. The only thing that was filled was the shampoo. Had to call the front desk and ask for towels after a couple days because they didn't replace them.

It was my second stay in this hotel. This helped to get into the right building (closer to the beach) while the receptionist tried to put me in a different one. The room itself was nice and clean. However, the bathroom tub was dirty and had drainage problems. Cleaning and maintenance people fixed it the same day.

Traveler's tip:

One more suggestion would be to improve selections in their Sea Breeze Cafe. But Aruba offers dozens of great other restaurants, so just avoid the Sea Breeze. Their newer restaurant, Windows on Aruba is way too expensive but the view is gorgeous (I wish it was a part of the menu :).
