The moment you set foot in the lobby, your blood pressure will drop. The hotel is beautiful and the staff will treat you like you've known them for 20 years. They are really good at anticipating your needs without crowding you. If you appreciate great food, the Coyaba will not disappoint. The chef prepares four-star meals, including authentic Jamaican cuisine. Even breakfast each morning was something to look forward to. The beach is immaculate and private with its own dock, which provides great views of the sunset. If you want activities, the best golf courses and scuba in Jamaica are 10-15 minutes away. You can do as much or as little as you want and have a great time. We definitely want to go back!

Traveler's tip:

Stick to excursions that are relatively close if possible. The traffic can be frustrating.

very relaxing! The staff was very friendly. The rooms were excellent. The beach was great for laying around in shade or sun and enjoying the incredible view and ocean breezes. The swimming area is really only good for an occasional cool off, as it is small and there is a good amount of seaweed under the water. Most people don't really swim at the beach much anyhow though. They have several decks, one on the beach and some hammocks back under the palms. Good place to lay down with a rum punch or red stripe. Good pool and hot tub as well. Upon arriving, the staff was very helpful and friendly. They brought everyone a rum punch and cold scented towels to cool off. The main restaurant was very good! I didn't try the food from the other dining areas, mostly just drinks. The breakfasts are particularly good there. You would definitely enjoy your stay at the Coyaba!

Traveler's tip:

If you stay at the Coyaba or are in the MoBay area, I would highly recommend a restaurant very nearby called the "Sugar Mill". Make reservations with them and they will send a driver to pick you up. Amazing dining!

Good things about the hotel: -Great service, the staff goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable and satisfied. -Good air conditioners and comfortable beds and pillows! A great plus for me. No problem sleeping! -The food was good at the hotel, but it starts getting expensive if you don't have an all inclusive plan. Cons: (but not really a con, more of a preference) -If you are used to seeing a lot of people, or enjoy having a lot of activities at the hotel (example, volleyball, water aerobics etc), you will not like it. It is very quiet and relaxing hotel. Unless you leave the hotel, not much to do at night expect have drinks at the bar. But overall its a great place!!!! Would definitely go back and recommend.

Traveler's tip:

New Yorkers especially! Learn to relax when waiting for food in Jamaica. Service is not as fast as New York. (Talking in general, not in specific to the hotel)

This resort is perfect for those who want a peaceful getaway and low key vacation with GREAT food and a huge selection of alcohlic drinks. The customer service is wonderful with friendly staff in the restaurants, bars, and housekeeping. However, the staff at the front desk seemed impatient and unfriendly when approached. The grounds and the beach are beautiful, but the beach is sludgey...not good for wading. There are also no waves due to the reef not far from the beach. The resort was never crowded, and at times we had the beach all to ourselves. There are planty of chairs on the beach and by the pool. The dock is nice, and a wonderful spot to catch the sunset. Overall, we were really pleased with this resort and amazed by the food at Vineyards. The quality of food and drinks were well beyond expectation for the all-inclusive plan. We would love to come back in the winter.

Quiet and beautiful. On the beach with plenty of water activities to indulge in. Not a lot of traffic. Ideal for honeymoon ...w/ busy night life strip 15 minutes away when ready,

Traveler's tip:

Not many attractions close by. Watch out for all soveigner shops disguised as the shopping strip. Same products in every store and everyone is hustling to get your dollar.

The small size of this resort makes for a friendly, intimate experience. Lush, well-kept grounds are a haven for hummingbirds, get up early for the sunrise and possibly a look at the sting-ray that lives at the end of the dock. Sandy beach is groomed daily and there's plenty of room. Gentlemen, take a nice pair of trousers, dress-up with the lady and have a cocktail at the Polo Grounds upstairs before dinner. The food overall was very good, but we were promised that it will even improve with some new staff lately brought on. A great place to rediscover the magic in your romance.

If you want a quiet and peaceful trip then Coyaba is it! It is also great if you have young children, the water is excellent for them as it is very calm and they can fish on the pier with Mr. Ally; they will just have so much fun. The staff is super friendly! We cannot wait to go back. We will definitely be staying at Coyaba on my next trip!

Coyaba is a beautiful resort with a wonderful staff. My husband and I spend 7 days at the resort, and we cannot say enough good things about it! The food was delicious, the beach was beautiful, they have a great pool area (and hot tub) to relax in, and the grounds of the property are just picturesque. Not only did they have the great beach and pool area to lounge and relax at, but they also had a lot of different water sport activities and evening activities to entertain us. The rates are very reasonable as well, for both the room accommodations and the food and beverage once onsite. They have a very wide variety of menu items to choose from among the restaurant locations. This allowed us to eat all of our meals at the resort for 7 days, without having to leave the property in search of other restaurants, which we really appreciated. We previously visited Jamaica (about 3 years ago) and stayed at one of the more commercialized properties, and now that we have had a "Taste of Heaven", Coyaba is definitely our primary destination choice! If you are visiting Jamaica- this is definitely the hotel to stay at!

Big mistake! Here are some of the bad things you will hear/read about this hotel if you do your homework that couldn't be more true. The "cove" you have to swim in at the beach is slimy and smelly. The food was not good at all. With the exception of the bellman, the employees were not hospitable in the least. When we decided to leave within 24 hrs. of arrival, the hotel manager was like dealing with a used car salesman. It is so close to the airport that it sounds like the plane is going to come through the roof when it lands. Avoid room 311. The room was clean and in good order but here are few of my observations. The most disappointing was the shower area. The shower is tiny and the toilet is in the same small room. Next to no counter space by the sink and there was only one sink. Their sheets and blanket on the bed looked to be about 10 years old and there was just a blanket separating the mattress from the sheets. This winkled up during the night and I had to get up several times to readjust. Drinks outside are severed in the cheapest of plastic cups and makes for a very unattractive presentation. Here's my advice, if you have an ounce of sophisticated blood in your body, pay a little more and move up one more star.

They said Coyaba means heaven and they try to bring a little bit of heaven to earth and they succeeded! If you want a QUIET and peaceful trip then Coyaba is it! I have NEVER had a better time. The food is EXTRAORDINARY, the rooms are AMAZING, and the staff is DELIGHTFUL! I cannot wait to go back. I will definitely be staying at Coyaba on my next trip!

Traveler's tip:

Coyaba has motor boat rides, scuba diving, pool, tennis, a jacuzzi, 3 on-site restaurants, I mean you go and you don't need to leave. Unless of course you want to stock up your own rum in your private fridge =) and purchase some souvenirs.

I was in the best relaxation in this hotel. Everything is in no hurry. Food is the last thing you would care and worry, only concern how you can handle tons of food. I gained almost 10lbs from my staying in 3days, happiest memory in my life. Crews are kind and always saying 'no problem, ya man~'

Traveler's tip:

two hrs shopping is enough for jamaican downtown. don think you gonna stay longer in downtown resort is the best, but not for the downtown

This hotel was the perfect 5 night break for us. The staff were excellent, food very good and accommodation very clean. The beach was beautiful and swept constantly but it is not the best for swimming as it is fairly shallow and the bottom is quite sludgy (although I believe they were de-sludging imminently)The nanny service was excellent and allowed us a few peaceful hours a day. It's worth going All-Inc if you are not planning to get 'out & about' too much, as any other food options are a taxi ride away.

I was looking for comfort and luxury without the crowd. This is definitely the place as there are only 50 rooms. You will not see the other guests except at the freshwater pool and at mealtime. Even then the Vineyard Restaurant never seemed crowded-- the atmosphere and live music (a violinist) were great. There were not that many people on the beach and there were plenty of other activities around the beautifully maintained property-- darts, billiards, table tennis, foosball, tennis court, playground or just relax in the hammocks.

Traveler's tip:

The Kingston tour is worth it if you like Bob Marley and Reggae music. The Bob Marley museum was the highlight of a long day of travelling on narrow roads with cars passing each other with very little margin for error. Definitely do the canopy tour!! I would also recommend the Negril beach tour-- shopping was however limited to 30minutes at a strip mall. One cannot buy wooden crafts at small shops sprinkled around Negril unless you have your own car.

We only stayed here one night - in advance of going to another Jamaican destination. Facility is clean, staff extremely courteous and helpful, etc. Pools & other on-site facilities nice, too. Short ride from the Montego Bay airport. Would highly recommend to give it a try. We'd go back if were in the area again!

Just returned from a 'ladies weekend holiday'. This hotel was a perfect getaway spot - all service was excellent from the friendly bar staff to the room attendants and front desk greeters (the bellman was great too!). Perfect location 15 minutes from the airport; private beach. As you pass the other 'all inclusive' resorts, this one stands out for those wanting a quiet, pampering experience. Great room with a beach view; couldn't be beat. On-site dinners at Coyaba were better than expected too. Ask for the 'yellowbird' at the beach bar. We'll be back soon!

Traveler's tip:

Local restaurants - try Nikkita's (expensive)in MoBay; great service and food. Pick-up and delivery taxi service is included for free (other than the driver tip).
