Very attentive, courteous service and staff. Hotel was very clean and well maintained. Staff and Mangrove Grill and Gecko Bar were very friendly and welcoming. No complaints. Hotel was a little far out from most of the bars and clubs, but you can take the bus from anywhere along West Bay Rd for $2 CI. - Just indicate driver as you see a bus approaching (buses look like regular 10 seater vans with a Green circle on the front) You can ask the driver to stop whereever you want. Much cheaper than taking a taxi. Everyone in Cayman is friendly and it's relatively safe. Calico Jack's beach bar is the closest to hotel. Recommend Rackam's bar in George Town right on the water and very friendly and fun bar tenders there.

Hotel was o.k. but room's A/C had a leaking problem and room did not cool off well. Staff moved us to a room that did not have this problem. Staff was so friendly this minor adjustment did not effect our stay.

My husband, I and our two teenagers just spent a week at the Courtyard, mostly to scuba dive, and loved it. The staff/service was excellent. Great breakfasts. We ate dinner once at the hotel-food was excellent and reasonably priced, although not much atmosphere. Nice quiet beach, with all the water sports (kayaks, sailboats, jet skis, and a dive operator-Red Sail). We did not use the dive operator affiliated with the hotel, although the one we used (Neptune Divers) and several others moor their boats adjacent to the Courtyard, so all we had to do was walk across the street each morning. Very nice pool as well. We took buses mostly to get around-they stop in front of the hotel every 5-10 minutes, an occasional taxi, and rented a car one day. Would definitely stay here again.

The Courtyard by Marriott in Grand Cayman was an excellent bargain (this was off season). The location was great, with beautiful beaches north and south. It's a couple of minutes' walk from the beach, which means you can catch the sunset on the spur of the moment. The hotel staff was very kind and unassuming. I recommend renting a car. The Avis facility at the hotel had a better rate than the local company and the friendliest service I've ever had at a car rental counter. (The agent called our room with information about where my daughter could buy Harry Potter 7.) They also had an excellent free map of the island. The hotel has a large, kid-friendly swimming pool that was, except for us, totally empty during the evenings. The eastward view from our room was just as good or better than the more expensive view toward the west over the parking lot and road. The only thing that could have been better was the air-conditioning system in the room. We prefer to keep it off or use it very lightly (and turn it off when we are out), but the system was difficult to control and had a mind of its own. The blower was also loud.

The service at this hotel was fantastic and the rooms were very nice!

We stayed in this hotel for two nights to check out the island before our family arrived for a week's stay in a house we had rented. We were looking for an inexpensive (realitively, there is nothing inexpensive in Grand Cayman) hotel as we were not planning on doing anything but sleeping in the room. We reserved an island view room and we understood the hotel was across the street from the beach, so we expected an oceanfront hotel between us and the beach. When we arrived we were surprised to find the hotel owned the beachfront property across the stree and had a wonderful bar, grill, etc. on the beach. In addition when we mentioned we were in Grand Cayman to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary, They upgraded our room and gave us a free breakfast. We thought that was pretty great of them. All in all, the hotel was excellent and a great value and we would highly recommend it.

This place was so laid back it was about like being at home - except with cooks, housekeeping, and people to suggest or set up all kinds of entertainment. It was great having 7-Mile beach just a few steps away - the restaurant at the beach was a good deal. Also the Red Sail water sports rentals right there at the hotel, on the beach, were a good convenience. Everything was very easy to do, very clean, and well-maintained. The hotel staff were all extremely helpful and could answer any questions. Room service was a nice treat. Great pool - a nice place to enjoy the island breezes and watch for colorful lizards in the palm trees! Snorkel as much as possible - snorkel with the stingrays - snorkel along the reef just off the shore at the hotel. No need to exchange your money - they take US dollars everywhere.

We had lots of problems - toilet backed up twice, pool was always out of towels (and this was the off season), staff were barely civil, TV kept getting message box that would stay for 5 minutes or so. We told them about the TV problem 3 times and they did nothing to fix it or even follow up on the problem.

The staff was very friendly and helped us with any issues or questions we had. In fact, we got a flat tire on the rental car we picked up. The door man noticed my husband out front changing it out. The door man was on his way in to start his day and stopped to take the time to change it out for us. Great staff!!

Great location on 7 mile beach

It was ok. I did love the location and the beach across the street was one of the best snorkeling spots we visited. The hotel was ok. Some of the staff was awesome, like this guy named Troy. But some of the staff was kinda miserable. Forget the lady in the Red Sail Gift shop, she was a nasty thing, who should be fired. Besides all that, the trip was fine and if someone wanted to stay on that end of the Island, I guess I would recommend it. We love Grand Cayman.

Good accomodations. Only negative is the TV satellite system is really bad, bad, bad! Limited availability of channels and constantly going to a warning of pay bill or be discontinued. Very annoying. 5 of the 15 available channels was for advertising and operation of the dish system in use. This courtyard has just been sold to a new owners and hopefully changes will immediately be made to upgrade the TV satellite system and initiate a higher level of a maintenance on the room A/C systems. Great breakfast buffet however a bit pricey. Good selection on breakfast menu for a little less cost.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and I was very satisfied with it. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The rooms are located across the street from the beach which is a very short walk from the lobby. The beach is very nice with plently of water sport equipment for rental. Car rental services are located inside the hotel if you want to tour the island on your own or the hotel can arrange a wide variety of tours, dives, etc. Overall a very nice place.

Rooms were very spacious and well kept. Hallway carpets pretty musty smelling. There's a microwave in the laundry room (4th floor) Beautiful pool area. Located a stones throw from 7 mile beach. Great Snorkling right by hotel and also 1 mile down behind the old cemetery.

Traveler's tip:

The Marrioott Courtyard is not luxurios but is very comfortable. All-yopu-can eat breakfasts are a must, as is the Monday night pasta buffet. Maid service was a bit inconsistent, and the air conditioner quite noisy - but these are minor negatives that can easily be accepted. Free internet access in the lobby computers is also a nice plus.

Friendly people. Across the road from the beach but easy access and nice amenities. North end of 7 mile beach away from the crowds but close enough to enjoy all the benefits. Would stay there again.

The room was clean and large. It had a refrigerator and coffee maker which we used every day, and that saved us a lot of money on food (which is VERY expensive in Grand Cayman). The location was great; it was easy to get to everywhere on the island. We went diving on the north, south, and east coasts, and they were all good. The Courtyard by Marriott beach access is really right across the street (nice and close); there are clean towels, chairs, shade, a fresh water shower, and a restaurant right there. You can also snorkel right off the hotel beach when the water is calm; you'll see plenty of fish, especially if you bring some fish food. Not too many things (except the beach) are in walking distance; rent a car. Andy's rent a car will give you 20% off if you make an online reservation ahead of time, no payment required in advance. They do drive on the LEFT side of the road; watch out!

This is a clean, nice hotel for the price. The only drawback is that the beach is across the street and not very well maintained. But it's a good deal.

No hot water for two days (maybe ocean temperature). Ice machine not working in vending area. Toilet runs constantly. Air conditioning soaked the carpeting. No lunch available at the hotel. Tried to get a drink in the bar @9:00 p.m. Waited 20 minutes gave up without seeing a bartender. Probably should be 1 star and not a Marriott
