As of 6.11.07, still construction going on next door and looks like it for the rest of the summer, but the noise isn't annoying if you don't let it be. Consider that there is so much development going on in Provo, there are people paying way more than Coral Gardens prices, and they have construction noise too! Unusual to be snorkelling and hear trucks backing up while your head is under water. Lovely place to stay, not over the top like the resort hotel stuff. Rent the car, Avis is cheapest at $206 per week and has two locations, one at airport. Worth the drive to the other beaches. Be prepared to drop some cash on boat trips to other islands also, you must see more than Provo to get a grasp of the whole of the country. Leave your aggro at home, everything takes longer here on the island. Restaurants are fantasic, get the Restaurant Guide and use it as a resource for the type of meal and prices you want. Relax and enjoy TCI in the next few years before it becomes over developed.

Traveler's tip:

Sometimes beach access is not easy to locate. There are some marked trails on the main roads, but don't be shy to just pull into dirt trails, you never know, it may be the right one to get you to the beach. Also know that all roads are rather poorly marked and somtimes road signs only face one direction, if there are in fact road signs at all. Maps are poor and not to scale, but don't let this frighten you, it just makes it more fun.

Keep Looking...

We originally booked a "Garden Room" at Coral Gardens, knowing well in advance it was a studio unit. I've stayed in studio units at other condo/hotels on the island and was quite comfortable with the size and amenities. However, the size of the Coral Gardens studio is significantly smaller than anything I've ever stayed in... anywhere. In addition, the balcony was overloaded with tree branches and was extremely hard to sit out and enjoy. There are lots of problems going on at this community (1/2 the condo's are owned by one person and the other half someone else). The amenities offered are very confusing and we were pretty frustrated knowing that we had been looking on the wrong website that displayed all their features/amenities. The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is the staff. They were very accommodating and were ready to do whatever it took to make us comfortable. They definitely have their work cut out for them in light of all the issues they're facing. You can get a much larger studio (w/full kitchen) for the same price they're charging in a nicer location on Grace Bay Beach.

This condo was just what we wanted. The beachfront one bedroom condo at Condos of Coral Gardens was perfectly situated with very well kept grounds and large lap pool the only thing between us and the ocean. The beach was white as could be and the ocean as bluegreen as anything we have seen.We have been to Tahiti,Bora Bora,St. Thomas, and several other islands and the water and sand top them all for beauty. We went April 22,2007 and the water was a little chilly, but maybe warmer later in the season. The beach is raked every morning and the pool and grounds are looked after every morning also. The condo complex has been given a fresh face lift and looks brand new.The ocean front one bedroom was large with 1 1/2 baths, separate bedroom, king bed large bathroom(Shower only). The living room opened to the glassed in deck by4 floor to ceiling glass doors witch slid into the wall opening the whole LR Beautiful sunsets and a small open air restaurant serveing beakfast, lunch and dinner top it all off. Also, a dive shop. Go, you will Love it.

Traveler's tip:

You can go on a snorkle cruise, but you won't find anything better than the National Park right in front of the Condos. People from all other areas of the island come to snorkle what you have right in front of your condo

The people at this hotel couldn't have been nicer. Upgraded us to direct ocean front when we checked in at no charge. Very nice place and would definitely return. Some restaurants little far to walk, so taxi or rental car necessary. If you want rest and relaxation and want to get away from the normal spring break crowd, this is the place.

2 management companies at this hotel

the condos at coral gardens are managed separately from the 'coral gardens'. we have stayed with both sides at this property. while it is the same place, you have to go through the condo management to get anything done when staying at the condos and are made to feel like you are not 'part of the crowd'. the coral gardens has lots of activities (cocktail hours, special dinners that condo guests are not invited to) and staying at the condos, you can't even charge items to your room (beer at the beach? bring your wallet). they are still working through the kinks (our taxi didn't know we were coming, our rooms weren't cleaned consistently with missing towels, or not cleaned at all, there is no phone in the room for which they gave us a cell for but it didn't work). every one is super nice but there is definitely a difference in service when staying at the condos, vs. the cuna di vida managed coral gardens. one bright point is Jerome: the beach and general concierge for the condos. he is fantastic and made up for much of the condo managers lack.

Traveler's tip:

if you want real pampered service stay at coral gardens vs. the condo residences.

This hotel/resort is nice because it's closest to the best snorkeling in Grace Bay, so that alone might make it worth it. Overall though it was very noisy (lots of construction--this was 1/07), doesn't have an actual lobby area/desk to check-in and seemed to be unorganized. They did get us a pre-paid cell phone to use on the island which was very helpful.

Beautiful, clean room in a great location near a popular snorkeling reef

We were thrilled with our room at the Condos at Coral Gardens. If you can afford to spend the extra money, I would suggest booking the one bedroom ocean suite- you'll never want to leave. The staff was very nice and accommodating. We preferred this location over most of the other hotels as it was more private and remote- not right in the hustle and bustle of things. Not to mention you have one of the most popular snorkeling reefs on the island located just outside of your door. We rented a car to explore the island. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Condos at Coral Gardens again.

Traveler's tip:

Rent a car and explore the island. Don't be afraid to get off the beaten path and get lost. We discovered some amazing beaches in the process.

The Condos at Coral Gardens offers the perfect location on Grace Bay Beach. The Oceanfront Condos feature large balconies, full kitchens and lots of space. And while Garden Rooms do not offer an ocean view they are still a great option and value considering the resort's direct beachfront location. The beach and water are perfect, the staff was very friendly and available during our stay and the beach cafe offered good casual dining.

Traveler's tip:

Simba, located directly next door features great poolside dining. It's a good option that is walking distance from the hotel.
