What to expect: The resort mostly attracts couples seeking tranquility, except for holiday times when the resort fills with families. The main building's fountain courtyard typifies the hacienda style. Additional Mexican ambience is contributed by a broad, dry arroyo crossed by a paved path and planted with agave that leads to the beach. Amenity highlights: Five pools, including one for children, provide year-around swimming. The main complex adjacent to the beach features a two-level freeform pool with infinity edge and swim-up bar, a toddlers’ pool, and a spa tub. A Beach Club includes a fre... Went there for a vacation, just off-peak post-Spring break. Friendly staff, great breakfast, great lunch. Clean rooms, gorgeous views, nice and low-key pool areas. Only down sides were the dinner options at the resort itself, but food was nevertheless good. That and the towels were pretty abrasive and the spa facials a waste of time. Massages were great though and the overall experience at the resort first-class.

Traveler's tip:

The towns nearby are ok, but pricey and don't offer much more than Southern California beach towns do. So your best bet is to find a good resort and enjoy your time away from everything.

We were so glad with our selection of Casa del Mar over a choice with one of the mega hotels. It was quiet, intimate and very relaxing. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was perfect and the bed was one of the most comfortable away from home. We were also pleased with it's location in the corridor area which is located between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, away from the typical tourist trappings. If your desire is to get away from noise, crowds and theme park style hotels then we would highly recommend Casa del Mar to you.

Traveler's tip:

Strolling through the art galleries of San Jose del Cabo and then sampling beers at the Baja Brewery is a pleasant way to spend an afternoon. They also make a great thin crust pizza!

This is the most beautiful place in the world. It was my third trip to Cabo but by far the most beautiful, relaxing place in the world. I would send anyone who is looking for a classy resort to Casa Del Mar. It is paradise.

Traveler's tip:

must eat at El Chilar in San Jose and BohYi in Cabo San Lucas

Casa Del Mar service was excellent. Rooms were very clean and views were great. If you want to go to Cabos to swim, find another hotel outside of the corridor. Too rough to swim for even the most experienced swimmers. We were not told the main pool was closed 3 weeks for renovation until we arrived. Poor communications here as we called numerous times to check on other ammenities. They did provide some refund but that was not the point. As with most of Cabo area, very expensive compared to other areas of Mexico.

Traveler's tip:

Dont take any taxis. They will rip you off. $20-$25 to go either 5 minutes or 20 minutes. Rent a car for under $50 per day and make as many stops as you'd like.

We decided to stay at Casa del Mar for our honeymoon, and it did not disappoint. The room, the view, the food, the beach...it was all amazing. The people were friendly and knowledgeable, and they made us feel like we were their only guests. Just keep in mind, you cannot swim on their beach because of dangerous currents. They will, however, take you down to another beach that's approximately 2 minutes away by golf cart. The water is warm and so blue! You'll never regret booking at this hotel!

Traveler's tip:

Make sure you bring lots of sunscreen and reapply every time you get out of the water.

What a gorgeous, serene and relaxing property this is. We left rainy, cold Seattle hoping for sunshine, warmth and some quiet pampering. That's exactly what we found at Casa Del Mar. The staff was helpful and catered to our every whim but they were not conspicuous or pushy. The grounds are impeccably maintained, pools are beautiful and a very comfortable place to spend an entire day. The spa is fantastic and as a Licensed Massage Therapist myself, I can honestly claim that I had the best massage of my life in this beautiful place! The food is exceptional in quality, quantities were generous but not over done. Our only wish might have been for a little more variety in the menus, both at the El Tapanco restaurant and at the Mesquite Grill on the beach. What they prepare is very well done, but, the menus don't change from day-to-day. Our room was beyond comfortable, the King size bed was fabulous, view from the terrace was great, and we heard no noise from the other units or outside the door in the courtyard area. Very clean. Bathroom was fabulous with a really great jetted/spa tub. Nice turn-down service every evening with a special little treat to top of the day!

Traveler's tip:

We don't recommend renting a vehicle in Cabo-it is outrageously expensive. We found it uncomfortable to drive in town in both Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. Casa Del Mar is located almost midway along the "Corridor" area and Taxi's were always on the property to take guests wherever they wanted to go. We could have taken many taxis a day for what we paid to rent a car. Besides, once at lovely Casa Del Mar-you won't want to leave that often!

Great Hotel and fantastic food. Waiters are extremly slow... If that would drive you crazy don't go! Beach staff for chairs and towel service ...even slower. Unless you make your own move to position your beach chair and try and grab a towel...watch them run!

Casa Del Mar was absolutely wonderful. The hotel was exactly what we were looking for. It is a beautiful hotel that is relatively small and pretty quiet. The hotel staff was very helpful and very friendly, the food was delicious, although, very expensive. It was very conveniently for us that the a beautiful golf course across the street from the hotel. We would definitely return.

Traveler's tip:

The food at the golf course was less expensive and very good.

This was our first trip to Cabo San Lucas and will not be our last. We were very impressed at the comfort, quality of this hotel and especially the staff. We stayed for 5 days 4 nights and it was a beautiful place to stay at. Nice, quite and remote place to stay, very romantic. The food was even better here at the hotel then it was in town. The chefs were outstanding in their quality and taste of all their food. Prices were very reasonable versus in the city. The Mexican Fiesta every friday night is a MUST see at the beach resturant at this hotel, make sure you have a reservation for the Fiesta Dinner all you can eat buffet. Trust all the reviews of this hotel, its because of these reviews that we decided to stay here at Casa Del Mar. This is one hotel you need to stay at to have piece and quite all day and night long. All pools were private with Adults only in all pools except the main pool near the reception entrance were kids are allowed to be in this pool only. The Spa was also very relaxing for our 1 hour appointment. We hope to go back and stay again at this hotel.

Traveler's tip:

We booked all of our activities through Gray Line Services. They really know all the local attractions and fun recreational things to do. The ATV and Horseback riding was awesome.

I have known about, and have read about, Casa Del Mar for years. I had high expectaions and was not disappointed. We stayed in a suite in the Aquarius building. This is a quiet, beautiful resort on a large uncrowded section of ocean front beach. If you want action, stay in Cabo San Lucas. Casa Del Mar does offer daily shuttle service to Cabo San Lucas, leaving at 10AM and picking up at 3PM. Cabo San Lucas is vibrant, modern and lot's of fun. But it's great to get back to Casa Del Mar to relax. Some reviewers stated that the food was very expensive and not that good. We found prices to be in line with other restaurants and the food & service were very good. The resort service was excellent. Friendly, well trained staff (most remembered and called you by name). We don't like being fussed over or "pampered". The staff was never instrusive.

Traveler's tip:

If you want to get out on the ocean, I can highly recommend "La Princesa". For less than $50 per person you get a 3.5 hour cruise on a huge catamaran including whale watching, snorkeling, open bar (unlimited free drinks!) light lunch, a lively fun crew and lots of great music.

Casa Del Mar is a beautiful, quiet resort that met all our expectations and then some. The staff was friendly and helpful from the moment we set foot on the property until we departed. We can definity recommend Casa Del Mar. Grounds were absolutely beautiful, our suite was clean and comfortable with a wonderful view of the Sea of Cortez and beach, food was excellent and service was great. This was one of the most relaxing vacations that we have ever taken. Must visit the spa for a relaxing massage.

Traveler's tip:

Marlin Fishing - book with Cabo Magic Sportfishing. In two days, we caught a total of 7 marlin (just the two of us). Captains and mates on both boats were fantastic. Baja Dune racing. book with Wide Open. Great time and loads of fun.
