I love staying at the Caribe Hilton because you are in beautiful surroundings, the ocean, trees, gardens, etc. The hotel in itself is beautiful and has many amenities to keep you entertain like games for kids and nature interest for kids, restaurants, spa for adults. In general, the employees are friendly and helpful, and the service is excellent. I was not impressed by the live entertainment at the main bar, and I would like to have the mini bar service in the rooms again, because sometimes the close the bars or room service too early. My overall impression was very good and I would love to go back.

The hotel was located on a peninsula where you feel surrounded by water. The grounds were exquisite. The pools and the swim-up bar were wonderful as well.

Traveler's tip:

The Hilton Honors Tower was extremely nice. Our bathroom was what you would expect to find in a luxury home.

The staff was very responsive. The hotel lobby was beautiful and the setting on the water fabulous. The room could use a little sprucing up, but since not much time was spent in the room that was ok. There were lots of activities for everyone. We didn't have kids, but if we did, they would have been well entertained. Good food at the restaurants. Everyone seemed happy there and that was a good feeling.

House keeping issues. One day they didn't clean our room or drop off towels. Also, weekend check in takes a long time.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and we loved the beautiful gardens, ocean views, pools, staff, and pretty much everything about it.Also,we got one of our best massages and manicure/pedicure at the hotel Spa. Best of all is that we were able to save a lot of money on taxi rides to Old San Juan, Condado, and Bacardi Factory. The bus stop to Old San Juan and Condado is located on a main street (i forgot the name); its about 3-4 blocks walk from the hotel (ask the concierge). We found a bus that comes every 10 minutes at 50cents a fare (as opposed to $12 taxi.Lots of restaurants in Old San Juan, all of which turn into a lounge at night.I'd recommend eating at Tantra. If you want to visit the Bacardi Factory, take the 50cent bus to Old San Juan and then a 50cent ferry (from Pier 2) across the bay (or river, whatever it was) and a $3 van ride at the other side of the water to the factory (as opposed to $35 taxi ride each way from the hotel!).

Traveler's tip:

There is a 10 minute bus ride at 75cents a fare (as opposed to $12 taxi) to Condado where you can find casinos and more fine dining (try Wasabi). And just a block from Wasabi is a nightclub called Kali. But, after eating at Wasabi we took a taxi($12) to Isla Verde where they had what is known as the 'best' nightclub called Brava. The cover was $14 and we had a great time (a mix of reggaeton, hip hop, house).

I will be honest, I was slightly worried about the quality of the room and hotel after reading several negative reviews. However, not only were these reviews not true, but our room and stay at the hotel was great. After a 12 hour flight from the West Coast we asked if our room was ready because we have a 9 mo old cranky baby and we wanted to unwind. It was 2 pm and the room was ready! Other family members were staying at the hilton as well and their room was not ready until 4pm. Our room was in the HHonors Tower and it was very nice and comfortable. The pool and beach area was great for our family. The restuarants and room service were very nice as well. Some reviews stated that there were additional or hidden charges to their room bill when checking out, however it is clearly stated how much parking is and other charges. The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful in suggesting places to eat and shop. We were even able to get a late check out! Overall, I would recommend this hotel for families.

I was in town for only a weekend and had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel. The room was great, spacious, wonderful view of the beach, great balcony for breakfast. The hotel grounds were imaculate. The beach was wonderful as was the pool and it's area. Hotel staff was extremely helpful, polite and seemed to be having fun. Would definitely stay here again.

Traveler's tip:

There's a great little shop to get traditional Puerto Rican food, right down the block from the hotel entrance. Food is great price is even better.

the hotel grounds were beautiful!!! breath taken view to the ocean and nice pool and private beach. my room was not that great and the view was awful(to another building roof)but I cant complaint because I paid a good price. I didnt matter to me and my husband, we spend most of the time by the beach, the pool, the bar and walking around old san juan. Old San Juan is about 5 minutes away drive from the hotel. The food was great, I never had a bad meal but food is somewhat expensive. We were paying $65-$150 for me and my husband. I really loved this place and I cant wait to go back.

Traveler's tip:

you will save a few bucks on the hotel if you stay during the week. I would not worry about paying the best room(fancy) because you will not want to be in the room at all.

I did not realize the facility was so large and elegant. Other than a few minor things (no sugar or spoon to make tea or coffee, pillow cases had an unpleasant odor even when clean and ice machine in hallway did not work), the hotel was a lovely place.

Traveler's tip:

To take a walk to San Juan, you need to walk over cravel of another property (perhaps a upcoming hotel) to begin a walk without complete sidewalk all the distance. Be careful at night-time, folks.

Beautiful pool and ocean view w/ San Geronimo's fort next to it. Great staff and restaurants were very good, particularly the seafood buffet each Friday. Rooms clean and well equipped.

Traveler's tip:

Go to Old San Juan for some fine dining and shopping in a a historic, colonial Spanish city. Reccomended: Panza, Parrot Club, and Dragonfly. In Condado: Ropa Vieja: great typical Cuban,Puerto Rican and international food. Order the Ropa Vieja con Mofongo ( mashed seasoned ripe planatain filled with stripped skirt steak).Great sangria.

This was a nice hotel. Some parts of the room look dated, but have been renovated to bring to modern. The views were great, GREAT pool, beach and other actiivities. Great place for kids. Would highly recommend.

Traveler's tip:

dining at the hotel is VERY EXPENSIVE. There are some restaurants in front of the hotel that serve sandwiches, hot and cold and have chips and drink. We walked there for an alternative and to save some money on some days.

The place is impressive. Shops, restaurants, pools, fitness center, tennis courts, beach. The architecture and landscaping are beautiful. The pictures I took couldn't show how nice the hotel and grounds really are. The service was a little slow but I think that's common on the island.

Traveler's tip:

Fort San Cristobal was a great tourist stop. It is operated by the U.S. Dept of Interior ( or National Park Service, I forget). Before or after touring the fort, you can walk through Old San Juan for shopping or dining.

The service at the hotel was wonderful. We were greeted well by valet workers as well as bell boys. The hostess took god care of making us comfortable until our room was ready since we were a little early. IWe enjoyed the night entertainement and the business of so many people.

Traveler's tip:

Dinning is a little expensive, but really good food. There is a nearby restaurant "El Escambron" which has typical Puerto Rican food. We highly recommend it.

Hotel service was pretty bad in the bar and poolside areas. Drinks and food are very expensive. It was a bit better in the restaurants. Washcloths and toiletries were not replaced by the cleaning service. Conseierge service was less than helpful, even for such tasks as finding somewhere to dine or go out for entertainment at night. Beach in at hotel was not very clean or inviting. Over all my impression was that there must be something better.

Traveler's tip:

Try El Jibarito in Old San Juan for good inexpensive Puerto Rican food (again service is not great, but at least you are not being over charged.) As for nightlife, try NUYO RICAN CAFE for live music and BRAVA nightclub in the El San Juan Hotel for dancing.

This has got to be the best hotel I've ever stayed in. I can't imagine going back to Puerto Rico and not staying there. The rooms from the balcony to the bathroom are beautiful. The bed was so comfortable I wanted to stuff it in my suit case. I especially like the bar in the pool. Everyone is friendly and curteous. I can't wait to go back. I give this hotel... *********

Traveler's tip:

If you smoke buy your cigarettes at the airport when you land. Although the breakfast at the Caribe Hilton is Great it can run you a pretty penny if more then one so try the breakfast at The subways near by. You get what you pay for...

This hotel is a great place to stay. It has a lot to offer travelers. The pool is fantastic and the hotel sits directly on the beach so travelers can choose to lie out by the poolside or relax on the beach without having to go far. There are several restaurants in the hotel to choose from. The meals were a little on the pricey side, but the food was delicious. For those of us who need our morning java, there is a Starbucks located in the lobby. The staff were very pleasant and friendly.

Traveler's tip:

To save a few bucks on breakfast or lunch, travelers can walk less than a block from the hotel and grab a bite to eat at Subway or a local sandwich shop.
