Loved the quaintness of this hotel and the setting. Will return to this hotel again. Everything was so peaceful and the people were so friendly and helpful. This did not feel like a hotel. Loved the birds and all the beautiful landscaping.

Traveler's tip:

To eat, shop or sightsee, you had to walk, but we enjoy doing that and the distance wasn't that far. We felt very safe at all times of the day or night.

The rooms were comfortable, spacious, and nearly spotless. We had our own private patio and courtyard. Within walking distance to beach and water taxi to New Providence. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. The only drawback is the lack of a nearby grocery store so that you could actually USE the full kitchen.

A Thrifty Oasis on a High Priced Island

We enjoyed 7 days, 6 nights at the Bay View Suites on Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas in April of 2008. This Best Western Hotel is a well maintained condominium complex that really exceeded our expectations. Paradise Island is a very up scale, expensive resort area but Bay View Suites provided a comfortable oasis with 4 acres of tropical gardens and 3 swimming pools. We definitely would stay there again and would recommend this condominium for couples or families.

Traveler's tip:

Staying on Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas can be very expensive but if you stay in a lesser known hotel or condominium in the middle of the island, you will be within walking distance to the major attractions, one of the best beaches in the Bahamas, and a $3.00, 15 minute water taxi ride to downtown Nassau for even more action. It's a great way to have the best time possible in Nassau and still stay within your travel budget.

The front office staff were not at all helpful. The service was very sloppy. There were no shuttle services to and from the beach which was 10 minuites away. No extras were offered.

Traveler's tip:

eat where the locals eat. The fish fry was the best. Anthony's was a close second, but a bit pricer

I found this hotel through Expedia and must say I was pleasantly surprised at the accomodations. While not luxurious, it definitely earned its three star rating. It is a modest facility, but the room was spotless! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They went over and above what was necessary in making our stay the best it could be. For the dollar, the value can't be beat. Very quiet - not the place to go if you are looking for activity and nightlife. Only drawback for vacationers is no beach access. Overall, though, it is definitely worth the money.

Traveler's tip:

A rental car will definitely add to your stay here. Not much within walking distance. Make sure you visit the Marina Village at Atlantis nearby.

The hotel was very friendly, beautiful flowers everywhere and very quiet. There were plenty of other people there but it was very quiet and nice for my husband and two teenage girls. The suite was very comfortable and clean and they even had fresh flowers in the room for us each day, cut from outside our room. We would defintely go back.

Traveler's tip:

Make sure you get all of your shopping done on the island prior to 8:00 p.m. because the shops close then.

An Excellent Deal for Paradise Island,

This hotel was not only affordable but far exceeded our expectations. The suites were roomy, well airconditioned and in a beautiful tropical foliage-laden setting. It was nice to have a back garden where we breakfasted each day. The "Welcome Package"(groceries placed in the fridge before your arrival) was a good idea but some of the items were overpriced. Although someone is at the receptionist desk 24 hours, the office hours are from 8:30 am to 7 pm. Make arrangements the night before if you have an early flight when checking out. We were able to check out the night before. Definitely a good place to stay if you want space to do your own thing, be conveniently placed for day trips, and a good place to stay at in overpriced Nassau.

Traveler's tip:

A car is necessary if you want to travel around the island. If you want to lie on the beach then this hotel is close to all the major beaches. The suite includes a spacious kitchen with all the necessary equipment.A good alternative to Paradise Island and Nassau where eating out is very expensive. Buy groceries in Nassau food store NOT at the inadequately stocked and very expensive deli on Paradise Island!

I was surprised at the so called restaurant/lounge which were open only until 4:00pm. I think it should have been stated snack bar/service bar. The pool areas could have been cleaner.

Traveler's tip:

The area was excellent. We did go to a fine dining restaurant (Grarcliff) in Nassau.

My experience in this hotel was much better than what I imagined. The hotel was kept clean, the rooms were maintained properly. The housekeeping staff came and cleaned the room everyday, washed all the utensils, placed fresh flowers in the hall. It is 10 mins walking distance from Beach. Great place to stay, quiet peaceful location.

Traveler's tip:

I found this hotel stay worth than staying in a more sophisticated hotel. You can sit in the porch outside and have tea/coffee/beer in the morning/evening with nice breeze flowing by. Muh better than staying in a "tall building" hotel and worth the money + you get a free Wireless connection.

This hotel is anything but what it looks like online. Very old and run down. They keep it as clean as they can considering the age of the facility. While we were there the main pool was "under repair". Empty and green! The staff is extraordinarily nice though. If you are used to a nicer place, spend a little more. There are newer looking places nearby.

My fiance and I just got back on Saturday December 16, 2006. We had the most relaxing and tranquill time at thia villa. It was very clean and the staff was very firendly. So were the residents. Beware that the food is very very expensive everything on Paradise Island is very very expensive. The double what we pay in the States. Go downtown and buy your souveniers.Overall We had a very romantic and quiet time. Enjoy!

Traveler's tip:

Make sure and buy food from the lunch lady on the side of the road leading to The shopping plaza. Her food is delicious and cheap.

Our family of 4 was very comfortable in our 2 bdrm villa. Plenty of room for all (1100sq ft.). Within a 10 minute walk to the marina + all the attractions @ Atlantis. Staff was very courtious. Overall it was an affordable alternative to Atlantis (with alot more square feet)

Traveler's tip:

definitely take a taxi over the bridge and go to the supermarket. We saved quite a bit of $$$ by having breakfast + sometimes lunch at the villa. otherwise food for 4 may run around $250-$300 / per day, depending on where you eat.
