Pools are great, and swim up bars and bar staff are great. Resturants are good and have a good selection, would not recommend staying longer than 7 nights. Deluxe rooms are a little tight for 2 adults and 3 kids, but still very clean. Water sports are good, however the attendants offer lessons but really dont!!!! Fortunately I know how to windsurf, howevermy daughter didn't, and wheni asked for a lesson for her they stated that I should teach her :(........not good. Hobies are good but dont expect top of the line (14' with small sails i think they where 10m)

Pleant of sun screen........50 plus

For what we paid, we should have rented a private villa with staff. The food was less that mediocre. Seafood was smelly and over done. Room was okay as long as we didn't lookout the window to view the public toilets. We have cockroaches, live and dead in the room. Entertainment and beach was excellent. Spa massage is great. Mani/Pedi not worth it especially since then add gratuity automatically.

Traveler's tip:

Stay elsewhere and hire your own staff to cook and clean.

My husband and I went to Turks and Caicos looking for a luxurious vacation where we could eat, dive, and be pampered. Instead what we found was mediocre food, low-end alcohol, and diving limitations that made spending this much money for a 5nite stay not worthwhile. I could have stayed at a 5 star hotel and eaten at premium restaurants any where else including Hawaii which is very expensive and still have come out ahead. The staff were not very friendly. There were a few but I would say 80% were not. The best food was definitely at the Adults only locations (Sapodilla's and Cafe De Paris) Kimonos also was pretty good. Other than that basic things such as burgers & fries were overcooked or cold. Their version of premium alcohol was Absolut or Jack Daniels most of the other brands I had never heard of. I knew that this location was definitely family oriented but the lure of premium food and drinks and diving but all were disappointing. The dive spots they took us to were ok. I have seen similar coral and fish in other caribbean locations like St. Martin or Saba. Save the money and if you really want to splurge do not do Beaches!

Booked one week before departure and pleased, overall, with how it turned out. Food was not necessarily 'out-of-this-world,' but it was enjoyable and the options were varied. Favorite for breakfast was Schooner's (water view and menu vs. buffet) and favorite for dinner was Le Petit Chateau (adults only and menu vs. buffet). Be mindful of dining hours and which restaurants are open each day, so that you don't get caught. Also be sure to bring bottled water with you to the restaurants. They serve tap only, and it's not very tasty (has an odor, as well). Also note that the resort does not carry skim milk; 2% is as low fat as they go. Another tip is to wait to book your spa appointment until you are at the resort. We made via telephone and internet, followed up multiple times to confirm, and they still didn't have in the computer when we arrived for the appointments. In terms of internet use, beware that it is not free! We never got our laptop to accept the resort's ISP, so we had to purchase internet time on one of the computers -- which wasn't cheap. Again, you can supposedly connect on your own, but there is still a cost (you provide your credit card number before you are able to use the web browser). Finally, if you are a fitness buff, be sure to check out the aerobics classes! Natasha is the instructor, and she is great. From yoga to kickbox to step, she'll have you sweating hard, but loving it.

This is a place to go if you are traveling with small children. It's not just child friendly, it's almost totally child-focused. (E.g., my sandwich came with the crusts cut off.) The woman who checked us in was officious, unfriendly and provided us with inaccurate information about the diving operation there, which is what we primarily wanted to do. Despite the fact that the room tap water was unpotable, I had to make repeated phone calls every day to get bottled water to our room. Overall the food was not great. Hardly any of it is local, mostly all flown in from the U.S. We were able to get some great local conch off the resort. The dive schedules and the restaurant schedules did not mesh, so that when we would get back from diving it was usually too late to get lunch. The best food on the resort was actually a little pizzeria (Bela Napoli)that used fresh ingredients and made the crust there. That's where we often ended up for a late lunch, and the pizza was great, but I would have liked more options for lunch. The diving was beautiful and the personnel from the dive shop were great. However this place really caters to introducing people to diving. Nitrox is not available and you are limited to two dives a day. Also, unless you have your PADI Advanced Open Water certification, they will not let you dive deeper than 60 feet, even if you have logged hundreds of dives.

Beautiful island...service at Beaches left a lot to be desired. We often go to all-inclusives and this was the poorest service. Bartenders very slow and friendliness of wait-staff and bartenders is hit-&-miss. If you want good service, go somewhere tipping is permissable...a few bucks here and there is worth the better service. Food & drink quality was worst of resorts also.

We love this place! This was our second time here and loved it even more. We stayed here in 2001 before we had kids and had a blast then and obviously even more fun now that we have 3. My 6 year old nieces did the "Kids club" (like school or daycare) while we did an all day excursion; when we got back they said they wanted to be in the kids club everyday. Doesn't say much for how fun we are, but they loved the staff and activities. Best of all, it's free! Food was very good for an All inclusive. Can't go wrong!

Really Good Family Resort

Good food and very friendly, if sometimes a bit slow, service along with comfortable accomodations, a vast array of things to do and excellent child care facilities make this an excellent retreat for parents and kids alike. Our week there was relaxing and fun with a good mix of people to make it that much more interesting. The scuba diving was good, especially the coral reefs, less so the fish, but still very nice. I'd recommend this especially to younger families with children.

One caution, for those who like to hit the pillow early, the evening outdoor entertainment area is in the French Village, so if your room faces the pool in that area, you won't be getting to sleep until around midnight, whether you want to or not.
