This was my first visit to Jamaica in 25 years and wasn't sure what to expect. I rented a car from MoBay and drove the distance to Negril and, to check ouy other sites if I became dissapointed. I never got around to exploring areas outside Negril, the place (Beach House Villas)was so beautiful and the staff to friendly! I travelled solo and, had the most relaxing time, snorkled every day and ate at all the local restaurants. I will definately return to NBV next year at the same date (solo if I'm lucky).

Traveler's tip:

Use the JUTA system to get to MVB, taxis are abundant in Negril for small excursions.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights. It was like a ground floor studio apt. HUGE shower, very nice bathroom, full kitchen, huge bed, patio, the whole of beach house villas has these great walkways that are canopied by actual palms and ferns, very well kept and right on beach. The restaurant connected to it is decent.

Traveler's tip:

Snorkeling at the Reefs is amazing. And dont ever hesitate to get hooked up the people working at your hotel. That's how you get the good deals, but always HAGGLE.

This was our second trip to Negril but our first stay at the Beach House Villas. It was a relaxing and enjoyable week! We will return to the Villas. Our room was large, clean, the A/C worked great and we had plenty of hot water and water pressure. Everything in the room worked fine. The bed was large and comfortable but slightly too firm. The sheets were crisp and white. The refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker and stove were all nearly new looking. The food at the restaurant was very good. We ate most breakfasts there and a couple evening meals but there are also some great places within easy walking distance on the beach and we went out most nights. Shopping is also very close to the Villas. The staff does a great job of keeping the place clean. The beach is racked and picked up every morning and ready for the first sun bathers. The walk ways and common area were kept clean and in order. One morning my wife mentioned that we had mosquitoes in our room (because I left the door open) and one of the guys sprayed the room before we were done with breakfast. The staff also does a good job of keeping the beach peddlers out of your way. The bartenders were fun and funny and made great tropical drinks. The red stripe was ice cold. In short, this is a great place to stay. Dan and Caroline from North Dakota.

Traveler's tip:

Eat at 3 dives, Norm's and Sweet Spice for dinner. Just Natural, Home Sweet Home and the Villas (for breakfast). Of course there are many great places to eat. These are among the best we have found. Also, Xtabi has a great menu and the best (and almost only good) wine list that we have seen in Negril. It is expensive though. Be careful ordering wine in most places becasue wine is so sensitive to tempreture and many places don't know how to care for wine and don't protect it from the
