The resort was wonderful. The lagoons were the BEST. The food was very, very good. The rooms were so nice with the jacuzzi tub and the hammock on the balcony. The only complaint was the firmness of the bed. It was so hard. I would prefer something just a tad bit softer. Overall, the trip was fabulous and we would definitely return.

Beautiful hotel. Very relaxing!!!! I would suggest that if you want spa treatments book them early and even before you leave. Some where hard to get into at the time you wanted.

What a wonderful place! Great service, great food, and fun activities. Upon check-in your receive a glass of champagne, a cool towel to wipe the perspiration off your face (due to the humidity outside), and the ladies receive a beautiful carnation. All I can say is that the example of service above pretty much sums up the experience you receive all around the resort. We've already recommended this resort to all our friends!

Traveler's tip:

Contact the resort and get a copy of tours, scheduled recreational activities, etc. prior to arriving. The resort has some great values in the form of tours, etc. that require a little bit of scheduling to get the most out of your trip.

Aventura Spa Palace is an fantastic resort destination! The grounds are kept in immaculate condition and the staff is extremely friendly and courteous. The pools are fantastic and the food was better than expected. Only draw back is that there is no sandy beach on the ocean but to be honest, we didn't miss it. Be sure to take advantage of the free tours to Chichen Itza and the other Palace resorts...the one in Playa Del Carmen is a great home base for a day of shopping and beach activities... Can't wait to go back. Spa Palace was a great honeymoon!

Traveler's tip:

Don't forget to order the Mayan Coffee when you eat at La Hacienda!!! What a show. Avoid the Mediterream restaurant for dinner.. nothing special.

My husband and I spent 7 very quiet, very nice days at this resort. The people were all very pleasant and we met nice new people everyday by the pool. Enjoyed the choices of restaurants, however, I think we prefer food on cruises vs the overall food here. The best morning or late night snack place is Sweet and Coffee (their version of Starbuck's). Had great cappichino and mexican coffee! As for the room, it was very nice, but the bed (king) was extremely large and very uncomfortable. Overall a very nice visit, but think we will head back towards cruising.

This is a very nice reality-escape-type kind of a place. If you are looking for a full rest and complete disconnection from the outside world than this is your place! The service is really great (and I mean GREAT), the food is excellent; all the facilities are nice and clean. The place was completely renovated a year (or about) ago and you will find everything including the plumbing up to date. They have a 24 hours room service that is included into your package, a few very nice a la carte type restaurants that do not require reservations, etc. The room is nice and very clean but a bit small for a jacuzzi (unless you are planning to stay in a Presidential suite of course:)). The only disappointment is that there was no ocean beach of any kind except for a few small ponds of salty water with fish. The real ocean is nearby but you are not allowed to swim there :( Here are a few tips that can be useful: 1) reserve your transportation from the airport in advance, otherwise you will be required to pay $120+ for a cab (when the actual rate is half of that); 2) they will invite you for a 90 min presentation claiming that it is not a time share thing. In fact it sure is. Unless you are really in a time share mood do not waste your valuable vacation time on that.

Traveler's tip:

If you are up to some diving go to Puerto Aventuras (2-3 miles away) , there is a decent dive shop there. The hotel can make a reservation for you. The diving site is a very reasonable one but still not even close to what you can find on Cozumel. Anyway it is good for a couple of dives.

My husband and I took our honeymoon to Aventura Spa and loved it! It was a last minute trip, and we ran into a few problems with the resort receiving our reservations. I spent a couple hours on the phone two days before we left to straighten it out. Expedia was very helpful.I would recommend going but double checking with reservations before departure. Once we arrived we were treated like Kings and Queens. They are very hospitable, and sincere in their services. The food was amazing! The gym was perfect too. The excursions were fun, but large groups. If you can go for New Years--its a big celebration!!!!

I vacationed/married/honeymooned at Aventura Spa Palace December 5th, 2007 through December 12th, 2007. Overall my experience was amazing. The service was outstanding and the wedding coordinator made sure everything was perfect! I loved that you didn't really have to leave the resort to do anything. Kayaking, snorkling and volleyball were our daily activities. When we did decide to leave there were quite a few trips included in the 'all-inclusive' package. We loved that it was a 18+ resort as well. There were no screaming children at the pool or at dinner. The service couldn't have been better. Everyone was extremely friendly and very helpful! The wedding was very organized and went off without a hitch. I would highly recommend this to anybody looking for an intimate destination wedding. It was everything we dreamed of and more. We plan on going back for our 1 year anniversary!

Traveler's tip:

If you are looking for a lot of nightlife there are not very many options unless you leave the resort. There is only 1 club on the resort property and it's pretty small and smoky. If you are looking for a good time take the club tour excursion to Playa De Carmen through Best Day Travel.

This was my first "big" vacation and now I am not sure how we will ever go anywhere else and have it live up.... Everything from the room to the food was amazing. The most amazing thing though was the staff, unbelievably helpful, friendly, courteous and hard working throughout our entire stay. This place is worth every penny if you go and still seems very reasonable for the service you receive. Even the entertainment was top notch.

The staff was very friendly and attentive. We were able to fully relax and have drinks brought to us, food delivered to the room, extra pops delivered for our fridge, etc. all in an extremely timely manner. The staff makes sure you are happy and taken care of. Breakfast and lunch options are only buffetts, but there is enough variety that everybody should be able to find something. Plus, if you don't like what you try, you can alwasy go back through the line again. The dinners were good, especially at the Italian, Argentinian and Greek. Ironically the Mexican restaurant was the least impressive in my opinion. The grounds are beautiful. We snorkeled in the lagoons. Not a lot to see, and super salty. Everything is within walking distance, I was under the impression that you would need to take the shuttle between the two lobbies. The spay was a nice experience. Definitely get to your appt. early so you can enjoy the hydrotherapy area first and be relaxed before your appt.

Traveler's tip:

Aktun Chen was a neat experience...spelunking in a large cave with a beautiful cenote. But we got charged 350 pesos for a taxi, so it might be worth renting a car for the day!

Beautiful hotel. Great service. Great food, especially the buffet with tons of fresh food and the Mexican restaurant. I had the best massage ever - I highly recommend the 80 minute aromatherapy massage. It's worth every penny. There is no sandy beach at the hotel, only a (large) sand bottom swimming lagoon constructed from the rocks. (Which is great for snorkeling but no ocean waves). Both of the pools have loud activities from 10 to 4 and there are few "quiet" areas to read and listen to the ocean.

This resort is beautiful, but enormous. Regular shuttle buses between the North Lobby and the South Lobby should give you a clue. The staff was super friendly and you were greeted constantly. The morning buffets had a large variety of food. You could get anything to eat pretty much any time. The Mexican restaurant was our favorite and we visited it more than once. The other restaurants were ok. Our biggest disappointment was that the pool and beach area for swimming closed early at around 6:30-7pm. It would have been nice to go for a swim after a day of excursions.

This was my first trip to Mexico and the first trip with my wife since it was our Honeymoon!! The staff treats you well and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome! The spa was excellent we both enjoyed taking advantage of the many options. The food is great and the service was above and beyond both of our expectations. The resort has two lobbys each having three major resturants close to each and a shuttle that runs between the two every 5 minutes. Bring a collared shirt and long pants for a couple of them, besides that you will enjoy the hospitality and dining experience. Once you check in you will not want to leave!!

Traveler's tip:

While you are there visit the 2nd floor of the south lobby if you want to take a few off resort activities. The resort offers a few for free so look into that as well. The snorkeling I highly suggest !!

This hotel is beautiful, the service is the best I've ever had. You're always greeted with a smile. We've stayed at 5 star hotels and this hotel surpasses all of them. The food was very good. Loved the mexican restaurant. Staying at this resort was like being on a upscale cruise. Entertainment at night, food constantly. This was a quick get a way, just 4 days, so we just wanted to lay around at the pool. One thing there's a lot of walking, great way to walk off all the food.

Traveler's tip:

We wanted to relax, so we rarely left the resort, we went golfing at playacar palace, I wouldn't recommend golfing there. It was very noisy, lots of traffic, its near the highway and there is lots of construction going on. We had a grass cutter that followed us the whole course, everytime you got ready to hit the ball he would cut the motor and watch you, it was very distracting.

We had a wonderful time at Aventura Spa Palace and can't wait to go back! The staff is so helpful and friendly. The restaurants were wonderful...we really enjoyed the food at Mundaca (Argentinean steakhouse) and had a fantastic Mexican dinner at La Hacienda. The included tour to Tulum was short, but very enjoyable. And the pool...the lagoon...SO BEAUTIFUL!!! Be sure to use A LOT of sunscreen! The resort is huge, so there is always something to do or see. We would highly recommend this resort!

Our stay was wonderful! The Hotel and grounds are beautiful, a pleasant surprise as hurricane dean had struck two weeks prior to our visit! The employees we met were always happy and very courtious to the guests. The spa facilities are outstanding!!!

Traveler's tip:

Mix up your activities between staying on the resort grounds and adventuring out on your own. The guided tours are nice, but you really need to adventure out on your own to see the real things going on!

We stayed at Aventura for our Honeymoon and the place is absolutely wonderful. We had dinner at a different restaurant every night and each place had it's own vibe and cuisine from Sushi, Italian, Meditteranean, Mexican, Argentinian, etc. The 24 Hour Room Service was another great amenity. We found ourselves ordering every night around 3 a.m. Riviera Maya is so beautiful you will want to go back again and again. It's in a good location if you want to see Ruins, Xcaret, Playa Del Carmen, Cozumel, etc. The beach at Playa Del Carmen and Tulum will take your breath away. We will definately return to Aventura!

Traveler's tip:

Take advantage of the tours included in your package. Tulum was great! The beach is gorgeous, you will definately want to jump right in. We also swam with the dolphins which was not included but was worth every penny. Dolphin Discovery is about a 10 minute ride from the hotel. Playa Del Carmen is a great town, make sure you visit, the beach is BEAUTIFUL!

We only left the resort for half a day. No need to go anywhere else. I would recommend Aventure Spa Palace for any couple looking to get away and relax!!!!

Pros: Beautifully landscaped propertly, wonderful lagoon (snorkeling in the lagoon is fun), plenty of room at the pools and lagoon (and great poolside drink service), fantastic (if a bit expensive) spa, friendly service, plenty of activities / entertainment if you are looking for that. Cons: Overall, indifferent food (although the italian place is good), uneven level of service (sometimes great, sometimes poor), rooms are nice yet not particularly comfortable.

Beautiful Hotel, grounds are so perfectly manicured. Clean room, they even turn down your bed at night! There is no beach here, but there are two huge lagoons built connecting out to the sea, really great for swimming and snorkeling! The food was not so great, but hey you can't expect 5 star cuisine from an all inclusive resort. In summary, I would definetly stay at this hotel again, My boyfriend and I had a wonderful vacation!

Traveler's tip:

Go see Chichen Itza. It is one of the tours included, it is worth the 2 1/2 hour bus ride, you won't be disappointed!

Great all inclusive, the only thing that I missed was having access to a beach that I could stroll down by the ocean. The Lagoons are nice, but when you are from Denver, the first thing you want to do is sink you feet in the sand and feel the warm gulf water spashing against you!

Great all inclusive, save money!
