I got a great rate at the Beach Tower and Atlantis is a very nice self contained resort with lots to do and see. I got there the day after the Tropical Strom came through and although it was a little quiet, everything else seemed to be in full running order. The service was fast and frinedly, overall a very pleasant stay.

Traveler's tip:

Keep in mind that food costs are very high, especially at the full service restaurants. Make dinner reservations early if you are there at a high traffic time. Try the Marina Village for more dining variety and cost options.

The great thing about Atlantis is that it is a self-contained compound. Everything you want or need on a vacation can be found inside the grounds. However, there is a downside, which is the price of everything. Ok, it's a little pricier than going to a hotel and sightseeing on your own. The room was great in the Beach Towers. The pools, the beaches, the service. We did experience some service "attitudes" at some of the restaurants inside the compound, but for the most part, everyone was hospitable and courteous. Overall, it should definitely be checked out. Just be aware that things like a one-liter bottle of water can cost up to $8.00.

Best place to stay at the island. Great place for a short stay would suggest find alternate places to eat. Very expensive for every meal or snack.

Traveler's tip:

The Market Place was the best place to eat inside Atlantis. Buffet style with lots of choices. But not Cheap!

Pros: Beautiful resort with a great water park. We loved the beach and countless pools. Since we went at the end of September, it wasn't overrun with kids. The resort has pretty much everything you need. Cons: There was about a 50/50 split in the level of service from the staff. From what we noticed, the female staff had some major attitude problems. We had reserved a king bed, but they only had a double. Our friends were told the same thing. Overall, everything was done at a snail's pace. The restaurants are a ripoff. We ate at Nobu and Casa D'Angelo which I thought were just average but very expensive. My husband and I ate at the Water's Edge buffet our first night since we wanted something casual. BIG MISTAKE! At over $100 for two, there was very little to choose from and the buffet was overrun with Mexican tourists pushing people aside to get to the food. I felt like I had to fight for my food at times. Overall, it's a great resort to just hang out and relax but you definitely have to be prepared for the bad service and expensive restaurants.

I was a bit weary after reading all the reviews I sorta knew what to expect. I was expecting food prices to be high if you chose to go to the restaurants on the hotel. A few places were great, carmines and seafire steakhouse. I only stayed 4 nights. Anthony's restuarant is ok.. decent price off the hotel. The deli restaurant is great. The beach is amazing white sand and the ocean was crystal clear. Waves were a bit high when we went but overall it died down through the day. There are so many pools. I went during off season so it was nice ot have the royal bath pool all to myself! The staff was courteous and helpful. I would say definitly bring some dollars to tip. they do charge 15 percent gratutiy on everything. I brought my own water bottles so I saved on that. There are off hotel liquor store so you can buy and bring to hotel. The rooms in beach tower was ok altho no fridge. i wouldve expect it to have a fridge. I explored the whole hotel. Plenty of shops, and pools and little places to explore on island. I havent explored the cove side, so next time i come back i prob would try that. other then that the hotel was absoultly great. you definitly should go to this place , i traveled with people who were not beach people and they had plenty to do and see. jetskis were wonderful as well. Last day there we went to downtown nas. straw market and shopping. it was nice. You can take ferry into town or taxi.

Traveler's tip:

i went during off season.... less crowded no lines and great exp. towards end a confrence came and it became more crowded.... can be hectic. bring your own bottle water, and dolar bills to tip

I was surprised that for the very high price we paid for the accomodations that the beautiful health club charged you $15 per day to use the work out facilities. I can understand charging extra for the Spa which only had mediocre massages for the price. The water park was exceptional. The food was way over priced for the quality.

It was a great resort with wonderful ammenities. However, there is a 15% Gratuity added to everything you eat or drink. That is all good and well as the service was great for the most part. However, there were a few people that were complacent about the service. They knew they were getting their tip no matter what!! The food is outrageously expensive but it is good quality - all of it! Continental Breakfast for 3 - $40.00 with tip. Lunch - cave grill - $40 Dinner - ranged from $50 for pizza to $185 at the great hall of waters.

Traveler's tip:

Take a bottle of water - fill it up in the room and stick it in the mini bar. Water there is outrageous - $3.75 12oz $8 for 1 1/2 Liter bottle. Also, eat breakfast at the snack areas, great pastries and eat lunch at the snack areas by the pool. It leaves enough for an expensive dinner $49.50 per person buffet at the Markeplace. That was the best dinner value and quality of food.

best vacation ever! stayed in beach tower but they put us on the wrong side of building. no view at all. just roofs. that didn't bother us to much becouse we were not in room. there was so much to see and do that the room was the last thing we cared about. it was just beatiful, everywhere you went. one quick word of advise, if you have kids pack one suitcase full of snacks. i could not find any candy machines or soda michines. go to the comedy club too, it was only 20 bucks and it was real good.

Traveler's tip:

get up early and walk around. we were there for 5 days and didn't get to all of the resort. it is hugh but just wonderful

hotel is average resort hotel. comfortable with average service. the surroundings are beautiful and the waterpark and access to other amenities make it worth it.

they really get you on the food prices. best to get a meal plan--the buffets are good. paid almost as much for food as the rooms but have 4 kids.

The Beach Hotel was acceptable, nothing great. The resort itself was phenomenal. Service at the hotel was poor - couldn't get a dental kit (luggage lost first day), couldn't get extra pillows. I would still recommend it. If you don't want to splurge on the Royal Towers, then it was fine. Royal Towers was opulent! But Beach Hotel was adequate.

Traveler's tip:

Stuart Cove's snorkeling was the best. You snorkel with sharks. It was the highlight of the trip.

The resort offers everything needed so you don't have to ever leave the grounds. The restaurants need to stay open later and the water facilities need to extend the hours they are opened to the guests. I have never stayed at a resort where swimming and everything is closed up by or before 7:00 pm. I don't travel this far and spend this amount of money to stop my day this early especially in the carribean.

Traveler's tip:

Make sure you take at least one pair of church type clothes so you can dine in most of the restaurants or otherwise you are out of luck!

The Atlantis is a wonderful resort and it has plenty to do for the whole family. It is very expensive to eat there! Bring alot of money to eat there and expect the price of your food bill to be about 1/2 of what your air and hotel cost. Otherwise it is a majically place and the people were friendly and helpful.

Traveler's tip:

Make sure to spend some time in the casino and then on the boardwalk. The yatchs around the boardwalk are to die for.

Atlantis is a beautiful property. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The water rides were well kept and lifeguards were abundant. We felt safe and secure at all times at this resort!

Traveler's tip:

Avoid eating on property for all meals, it can be quite pricey. Adventure out to Anthony's just out the property gates. Also, cheaper fare is available across the bridge to Nassau, only minutes away by taxi.

Amazing place. Great for kids/adults. Food is pricey as was expected, but that's, if you go to the fancy restaurants. There are other places that you can go to eat that are good and the prices are more manageable. You can't compare to what you would have paid back home, but again it's manageable. The portions are descent sizes, so that makes up for the cost. Beach is beauiful, everything is well kept and there's something to see no matter where you are in the resort.

Anthony's for breakfast, lunch or dinner is reasonable compared to resort prices. They are slow, but so is everyone else in the Bahamas. Stuart Cove's for snorkeling Rose's Island was a nice day trip which includes lunch, so you can't beat the price

All of the reviews I read about Atlantis were positive before we went. Overall, I thought the resort was nice, but from here on out, I will stick to all inclusive. Most upscale hotels have a check in time, but none of them follow it; if you get there a little early, it's no problem to get a room. Not Atlantis. We arrived 11:30 on an Expedia deal and had to wait until 3pm to get a room. Of the 35 restaurants on the resort, about 3 of them were open at lunchtime so it was like trying to get into a soup kitchen, all the while there is the usual "buy a timeshare or property" haggling by the staff. If you are looking to spend a normal amount on food, take the water taxi to Nassau. Meals at Atlantis add up fast. The marine aquariums were unbelieveable, and the beach was very nice. There are a bunch of pools to pick from, but no night swimming; the beach and the pools close at 7, so that was a let down. Over then those things, most of the nice things you see in the other reviews are true. I had fun.

Traveler's tip:

Definitely walk away from the resort for small meals like breakfast and lunch. It gives you a chance to expand your choice of souvenirs also.
