Needs to be remodeled or refurbished. Run down and old. Bathroom shower had mold and water stains all over the tile and the wood ceiling looked like it was caving in. Air conditioning didn't work. Some of the sliding glass doors and screens were falling apart. They never replenished our shampoo or soap and we never got new beach towels for the 6 days. The desk staff and the drivers were great.

would like too give special thank's to the cook at Fungi's Beach Bar.Ramp's cooking is great,he and the rest of the bar staff can make you feel at home.
The traffic to the east end of island is heavy on 382 east to red hook.If you go 30 threw havensight is faster.

This is a cery quiet and relaxfull resort. It would be ideal for those wanting a secluded location. Nature surrounds you and there is even a nature trail you can take. Ther unit we had was right along the water. I my opinion you need a car here to properly see the island and the restaurants and it is not that costly.
Traveler's tip:
Restaraunts in the area are great with a fine selection. A short walk from the best snorkeling in the US VI.

This hotel is built based on utilizing small buildings with just a few units in each building. This offers privacy and a feeling of being in an exclusive unit.We had a unit that comprised the second floor of one of the buildings. Our balcony ran around two sides of the building giving us great views of the bays below us. That was great. The room had full kitchen equipment, so you could fix a meal or a snack. The hotel has several pools and access to the beach at an adjacent property.
Traveler's tip:
Rent a car- taxis to town run up quickly. They charge per person and it becomes expensive for a family.

not a place to hang out all day, 1 beach is small (room for 2 people), 1 is not kept up. But, we dont pick hotels planning to spend our days there and it was a good home base. All in all it was better than I expected since I had read mixed reviews. Rooms were much bigger and nicer than I expected and had a full kitchen w/ dishes. Food at Fungi's was good and fairly cheap, Agave was good, but expensive, has a great wine list. St John is much nicer than St. Thomas, I would stay on St. John the next time. Rental car is a must. Recomend taking car ferry to St. John so you can drive there too. Should bring food from home for breakfasts and packing lunches, we did this along with waters and it was so easy to have that stuff, we only had to eat dinners out. We brought a soft cooler and packed it everyday before we went out. Kmart has best prices on rum. Coki BEach can be very crowded and annoying with people hassling you to rent a chair and order drinks. Go early and on a day when not a lot of cruise boats are in. Magens Bay is worth going to. Sapphire Beach is not, it was supposed to have good snorkeling, but did not. Snorkeling was much better on St. John. Point Pleasant would be hard to stay if you had little kids or physical disabilities. It is very hilly and walking to the pools, beaches or restaraunts were semi-workouts. I was 6 1/2 months pregnant and did fine, but would not want to carry a baby or little kid through the trails and steps.

Nice and accomodating resort that is nestled into the terraine of this lush island. The room was spacious and had a wonderful view. The housekeeping service was not exactly up to par but the overall experience was very enjoyable and I would very much recommend the resort to my friends and family

Far enough away from the city areas to make it very relaxing. Increadible views from the entier resort. We where there early in November and the water was good. Take the time to walk the nature trails and humming birds galore around the resort. We will be returing next trip.
Traveler's tip:
Make sure you use the red shuttles anywhere on the island for a buck or two instead of the average $25-40 for a semi-private taxi. Get some supplies at the K-Mart and stock the full kitchen in your room - every thing on the island but Rum is very expensive - milk was $8 a gallon in the supermarket. The hotel supplied free shorkle gear and you can swim right out of Fungi's restrant which we also though was a good place to eat with resonable prices for the island.

My wife and I stayed at the resort for a week in oct 2007. The staff is mostly friendly, for some reason all of the women were always upset. We decided the motto of the whole island is: "There's nothing we can do about that tonight." When we flipped a switch in our room and the power went out it took them almost 2 hours to find us another place. A lot of people complain about the fact that there are no windows, in both rooms that didn't really bother us, but you do have to run the cooler all night. The people are very difficult to understand, very thick accents. Overall its a beautiful place, but don't expect much help from anyone, plan on taking care of yourself. Expedia gives it 3.5 stars, I would say more like 2.5 at best. Oh, and expect to pay a lot for taxis.

I stayed here for my Honeymoon and would highly recommend this resort to anybody. It is romantic and private, with a great view. Access to Coki Beach is awesome, it's only a 10 minute walk, and in my opinion that is the best beach on St. Thomas. (Beats Magens Bay) The In-House fine dining restaurant Agave is also an awesome treat. The staff was friendly and when the cable box stopped working they fixed it immediately. Overall really satisfied: 9.5 out of 10

We were very disappointed with this resort. We expected activities, food, beautiful beach, etc. What we got was just a place to stay. The shower was gross, I wore flip flops everytime I took one. There was one restaurant on the premises that opened at 6pm, and there were absolutely no activities offered. I would never have stayed should I have been warned about these things. The only compliment I can give is that the hotel staff were friendly. Before booking, please consider all other places first!!!
Traveler's tip:
Use an open air taxi, they cost $1.00, and run throughout the day. It will save you quite a bit of money if you plan on leaving your resort.

We were very pleased with our room. The views from the room were incredible. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The beach area on the resort is very small, but usually empty. You can always hang out at the hotel next door's beach if you want a bigger beach and more people around (the hotel staff didn't seem to care). We did not go to Pineapple beach next door because we did not feel safe there due to the impoverished neighborhood around it. The resort is built on a hill so you have to climb a lot of stairs, but if you like exercise, you'll like it. Staff at Point Pleasant were very helpful and friendly, but we did not have TV all week because the cable company could not fix the problem. The hotel "comp'd" us for this inconvenience. Unfortunately, the Fungi waterfront bar was closed for repairs so we never could enjoy it. It was nice having the kitchen in the room because we cooked most of our meals to save cash. Restaurants in the area are pretty expensive (including the Agave Terrace - but very good). The swimming pools are very nice and have great views. If you are looking for the ultimate Carribbean vacation, I would not recommend here, but if you want a nice island getaway for a great price, this is definitely it!
Traveler's tip:
Avoid nearby Coral World (aquarium). Also, avoid nearby Coki Beach; a gorgeous beach, but it is located in a very poor area. The locals will harrass you to buy stuff. Red Hook is the place to go to eat and hang out. The neighborhood around the resort is not very good, so don't get out of your car or walk anywhere. Megan's Bay is the place to go to enjoy an awesome, beach on St. Thomas and only a 15 minute drive. Also, take the ferry to St. John (bring your swim suit).

We had a perfectly magnificent view from our balcony, which made up for the fact that the air-conditioning was somewhat "challenged" during the hot temperatures of late September. There is also a bit of climbing required, as the hotel is situated on the side of a steep hillside. There is an open-air shuttle, which is definitely needed,to take people to the top. Most of the time, they were quick to respond to a pick-up request. The open-air restaurant is romantic and charming with excellent gourmet-quality dining. We will definitely return, but we will choose a cooler month.
Traveler's tip:
Besides the Agave Restaurant on the grounds of Point Pleasant, we would recommend Molly Molones in Red Hook as a casual "Irish Yacht Pub". The food is good and it sits in a marina for those who like to check out the boats.

It was not a good experience at all. The air conditioner was so loud we had to shut it off at night to sleep. We asked for a wake up call because we wanted to go to St. John on the first ferry, and they never called. Housekeeping took our beach towel, (probably by mistake, because it was white), but the hotel didn't return or replace it. Three out of the seven nights we were there, the television did not work. In addition, the room needs to be completely renovated. I can't believe we paid to stay in that room. The facility did not look like the pictures we saw on their website.

If relaxation, privacy, and plain old comfort are what you are seeking, then this is the place for you. It was not the greatest resort, but if these are the qualities you are looking for on your next vacation, then this is the place. Transportation and restaurants are two things that they need to improve on, however.
Traveler's tip:
Definitely use the kitchen if you want to save a few dollars, things are expensive all over the Island.

The view from D27 was to die for we could wake up to that everyday for the rest of our lives. The staff were pleasant and helpfull.Although it's not a 4 star hotel more like a condo it was well equiped to meet your needs. The two restaurants were very good for each of their styles no breakfast but the the terraces were great for that. The grounds and pools are well kept and safe.A rental car in our opinion is a must.We had a good stay and would go back again!
Traveler's tip:
Rent a car there are so many wonderfull sites and taxis are costly.Day trip to St John a must do.

Great location, easy access to all. Housekeeping needs to greatly improve. If they would put extra effort in cleaning before you arrive and daily - they have a killer spot on the island. Fungis restaurant, cool location - food is decent, but not worth the price for portion and plastic plates. Overall, would stay again - but would know to push for cleaning and extra towels daily (some times twice a day)view for room was fantastic.
Traveler's tip:
You must rent a car and use it everywhere, even takle car to St. John - go local it rocks!!!Check out the Fat Turtle Restaurant, try coki beach, meagens bay beach, take BVI Snokel Tour by Liminious it 200% is Awesome! Have a brunch at Caneel Bay Resort on St John. I already miss it - so I better stop writing.

The resort was perfect for me and my husband. We stayed in a hilltop suite and had wonderful views and privacy. I would not suggest this resort for anyone with young children or not in good physical shape(ecspecially the hilltop units) as the walk/hike up and down is quite strenuous. We are both in good shape and enjoyed the exercise, but not everybody could walk all the way down to the beach and back without taking breaks. This is worked in our favor because the beach is small and it stayed relatively empty , allowing us room to snorkle and relax in privacy. The staff was wonderful to us and we have no complaints.
Traveler's tip:
Go to the KMART plaza grocery and get breakfast foods and tons of drinking water. You can buy drinking water in the shop at the lobby but they are small expensive bottles and with all the walking and swimming, you will go through alot of water.

I know this is a tropical location, but we got to enjoy the tropical heat even in our room! The a/c had not been turned on prior to our arrival (at about 5 pm), and by 10 that night the room was still 80 degrees. The a/c never cooled the room below 77, even at night. Overall hotel maintenance and attention to detail were lacking. The staff was friendly enough, and the grounds were well-kept and beautiful, but taking everything into account, I would try some other place next time.
Traveler's tip:
Don't miss Main Street in Charlotte Amalie . . . excellent shopping, especially for jewelry and booze!
