We had a wonderful time at the resort. This was our first stay at an all inclusive. Will always stay at one now. Our room was perfect, it faced the beach and courtyard. There is plenty to do on and off property. The staff was very helpful and courteous. They bent over backwards to make our stay perfect. My husband and I were there to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary. Will definitely take the family next time!!

the overall stay at this hotel was satisfactory except for the staff at the reef resturant. the resturant nerver open on time, they were late for breakfast, late for dinner and i had an early reservation and was disappointed at the attotude of the manager. i never went back to that resturant during my stay. if you go there please avoid this resturant as well. you are better ff at the horizon (on property) resturant.

Traveler's tip:

do not show up on time at the reef resturant. they are never ready, don't try asking to come back later because you will be told to wait until they are ready.

Almond Beach Village has a sister resort, the Almond Beach Club and a shuttle runs between the 2 taking about 20 minutes. From what I understood, the beach front is much nicer at the Club and you can walk right off the resort to shop (it's very safe). Almond Beach Village is a little more remote, but maybe also a little quieter. One thing I don't recommend is the trip to the Silver Sands beach (It's included with your stay), which sounds great, but from the Village it takes almost 1 1/2 hours each way, which isn't worth the trip. Catemeran trip was definitely nice, not sure who we used since our friends booked it. I hear diving is great out there, so if you're into that, great.

The almond bay village gives you a great stay in Barbados. The all-in is really ALL-in: Food, drinks, most activities and sports. The only things we had to pay for were the spa, a few trips and the rent for golf clubs and cart (only $5 a person for the 9 holes). The service is very good and the people are very friendly. The food is good, but not great. The only negative point I have is that the hotel is somewhat older (the last renovation dates back to 1995) and that shows. Nevertheless, the domain is pretty large and there are a lot of nice amenities. We enjoyed our stay there.

Traveler's tip:

If you like to get an introduction into golf the Almond bay village is a good place to go. They have a very skilled golf instructor who teaches you the ins and outs of golf. And most of all: completely free.

Thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Very impressed with the courteous staff, always happy to serve in a very friendly manner. Great food, with a wide variety for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Enjoyable evening entertainment. The only negative is the condition of the rooms. Need to be spruced up with better bed linen. Otherwise well equipped. Would recommend it , especially for families with children. Generally, Barbadians were extremely friendly and kind people. Try the Reggae buses if you want to enjoy the ride back and forth to Bridgetown. Only $1.50 (BD).

Great food, slow service. Great for kids, but hotel cannot accomodate when full capacity. We could not do watersports because it was booked all week. Plus we were having to eat at one resturant because the others were booked all week.

Lovely all-inclusive hotel from location (North west coast of island) to 4 different restaurants and bars. Option for lunch by the beach was great if you didn't want to change clothes. Lots of great water sport opportunities. Nice beach to walk on, but slope makes it tough for running.

Traveler's tip:

Bring a unique beach towel(everyone gets navy ones on check in) Men make sure to bring pants for evening dress. Horizons and Smaritta had great food. Through advice of others, we spent all our time at the Village not sister property.

WOW, where does one start. I have to tell you that this is the worst resort I have stayed at. First of all, for the price of the resort, the rooms are so out dated, the beds, bathroom, the furniture, all falling apart. This resort tries to impress you with a warm greeting, but to our amazement the the staff is very rude. I had asked the bar tender a simple question, she looked at me like I was crazy, and just simply walked away. I had to actually, get up and get my own water, coffee, cream and sugar. This place is so concerned about someone sealing the beach towels, you have to take your towels to the water sports area first and get a voucher, to be turned in by guest services. You can never get reservations at any of the three resturants. As far as the beach, you have to get your own lounge chairs and drag them 50 yards to the beach. The beach is beautiful, but it is very rocky. I do recommend the island but not this resort. The food is not up to standards, for a four star resort. Why does this resort allow women to wear sleevless shirts to breakfast/lunch/dinner but not men. I was so surprised. I can't express to you enough the service that I got when I was a guest at this resort. I spoke to a lot of guest, and I found out that they felt the same way. How do you rate this resort as a four star. I complained to the exe. manager of the resort, but nothing was accomplished. It's a shame, the grounds at this resort is beautiful.

Traveler's tip:

Take the 4x4 trip, well worth the money. It was an all day excursion, it got me away from the resort, which I so desperatly needed. Also, if you like to snorkel, go for the feeding of the turtles.
